I don't really have much to say about this piece other than what I've already stated within it. I suppose the only thing I should point out (because it's only fair, after all), is that: "Child of the Universe" is a phrase that I've shamelessly poached from Max Ehrmann's 1927 poem "Desiderata", specifically the lines:
"You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should."
There is also some secondary inspiration from Joni Mitchell's song "Woodstock":
"We are stardust,
(Billion-Year-Old carbon)
we are golden.
(Caught in the Devil's bargain),
And we've got to get ourselves
back to the garden..."
