Well, yeah.
Though by sheer chance, the last time I was at a public reading of "The Eye of Argon" I was slightly drunk, and at the overly long description of the death trap in, apparently, a supply closet, I distinctly remember saying "An adventure for 8-10 player characters of levels 12-15 by E. Gary Gygax."

A party needs to have either an intelligent, stealthy rogue, capable of figuring out or evading vicious death-traps, or they need an unintelligent, unstealthy barbarian, capable of surviving massive blood loss and occasionally incapable of noticing that pit traps are even there.
And thanks. I used to really like the revamped more dragony kobolds but now that I'm older, little yippy dog kobolds are a lot more appealing to me for some reason.

Otherworld Miniatures does a whole range of old-skool, dogheaded kobolds, incidentally. http://www.otherworld.me.uk/kbseries.html - quite out of my price range at the moment, admittedly.
