So, I don’t think I ever told anyone this but Brigsby was inspired off an old world building idea I had about wise, intelligent bears that could be found in hot springs; called Bath Bears. They spend most of their days soaking in hot springs and enjoying good food and drink.

Humans would travel long distances to sit with the bears, listen to their wisdom and enjoy their hospitality. The Bath Bears were jovial and friendly creatures as long as you followed the rules of the hot springs. They were always happy to greet new friends.

What made them special apart from their intelligence, ability to speak English and skill at brewing were their hides. Almost impervious to harm it allowed the bear to live life in relative peace. When on occasion a Hunter shot them, they wouldn’t get angry.

They would just ask the hunter politely, yet firmly, to leave.
