It's all because they're trying to keep people from abusing the meds, but that's not fair for people like my mom. My mom is in her 50s, she's allergic to almost everything, and she has so many problems. She can't do natural solutions... because more likely or not she'll be allergic to it or it'll only be temp. relief. She can't have back surgery because it's too much of a risk. She can't do acupuncture or go to chryropracter because those cost too much. Her only solution is pain meds.

I can understand that they are trying to keep the meds out of the hands of people who would abuse them, but I think people like your mom should be able to meet with someone and explain their situation, so decisions can be made on a case-by-case basis...of course, that would cost a lot of money on someone's part, which I'm sure is why they DON'T do something like that. But it isn't fair. :(
