Punching above my weight on this one, as far as lighting and shading go, but it was a lot of fun to work on. Began as a pose+anatomy study, evolved into a little OC art project.

Tirr, the wolf on the left, is a warlock in training, and Roga on the right is her mentor. Roga is a shapeshifter and usually presents as an anthro serval, thus the spots, but they adopt a canine morph for their lessons. Here they're both Comprehending a branch of a magic tree. Tirr is trying to read what's written there – it's clearly Xaran, the mother tongue of the humans who raised her – but the glyphs flit into focus and out again before she can piece them together. She hopes they can afford the time they're about to waste in deciphering this puzzle. Roga, at least, seems like they're having fun.

Pronouns for Tirr are she/her and Roga's are they/them. The black text is also Xaran, and depicts their names in that language.
