did you separate the black? or did you convert the layer to "multiply"? nice colors regardless

to be honest it didn't work quite the way I wanted it to (hence first try!)... I made the picture I wanted into a pattern and used the fill tool... cheating, isn't it?

and in actuality.. I have no idea how I combined the two... it was just a happy mistake.

If you'd like a second try at it I took the liberty of making a photoshop file with the lines separated from the background... just leave me a note -_^
