That is true and it definitely throws some shade to "Wine Connoisseurs" or Tasters. X3
Though in that same respect, what the general consensus is for a naming convention is called a "Magic System". Same effects sort of, different uses, characteristics, focus-types, properties, origins, all that.
But agreed nonetheless, though for me, I am very biased in love towards natural Magic or something from the body. Ki, Chakra (Naruto), Nen, Haki (One Piece), all of those I love so much because it gives one a sense of empowerment and allows diversity. Though you could easily say that with Magic, though Magic is so....unexplained and feels a bit too...vague and otherworldly. Magic can do literally everything, the only limit is your own imagination.
Ki feels just right, alongside natural energies from the body being harnessed and used! It takes ALOT of it to distort dimensions (Super Buu), use Space-time Teleportation (Minato Namikaze's specialty), generally start screwing with actual dimensional structuring. This leaves plenty of room for balancing your characters juuuuuuuust right and more so episodically told on how they get stronger, and have amazing teachers that are constantly stronger than them, but older teachers who've been surpassed are motivated to keep getting stronger by those characters' will to get stronger (Master Roshi & Goku).
The fact that Master Roshi is the first Human to use the Mafuba Technique repeatedly speaks to how motivated and determined he is to get better! Especially when the Mafuba has proven to be a sacrificial technique because it burns sooooo much Ki. I mean I think I saw Krillin do it multiple times, maybe Tien but regardless, it was with a character who did it once before everyone else and died as a result!
That gives me hope that theoretically - Super Saiyan 3 could be mastered to cost less energy! Though Akira Toriyama said there'd be no more Super Saiyan 3....or 2, ever again the further into the future we go. And it upsets me because Super Saiyan 3 has....so much visual impact. It literally shook the Earth in the anime, his transformation could be felt Worldwide. It was amazing, you could feel the electricity flowing from even the very fiction itself. It is perfect, it is not overblown, it is not underwhelming, it is juuuuuuuuuuust right! Every single time I watch the Super Saiyan 3 transformation sequence it gives me goosebumps all over because of the pure awe that I feel.
