Soma was one of the major contributors to Earth's ability to explore space in the twenty first century. Although the collective work took many years, Soma was able to design both a standard Faster-Than-Light drive and it's required fuel from current drive designs found on ships used by the International Cosmic Defense Force. Her design would be used by Earth and it's colonies for many years as the world united as one and even beyond the collapse and rebuilding of civilization centuries later, the standard for FTL across the Milky Way for anyone from Earth or descended from it's people.
