“Thank you for wasting all our time, Pan!” Hund said through the golden retriever's jaw.
“For once, I agree with the imbecile.” Kenzie said.
“You two are being so mean to pancake here!” The nurse said giving Pan a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “He was trying to paint a picture of all the happened so we can best treat the situation.”
“Idiot one tried to climb a tree and grab a coconut. Idiot 2 happened to be walking underneath the tree.” The doctor said curtly.
“Well I mean there is a bit more to it than that, like my backstory and…”
“And why I was under the tree!” Hund interrupted.
“Why were you under the tree?” Kenzie asked rhetorically.
“Ice cream.” Hund said plainly.
“That’s it?” Kenzie asked incredulously.
“Yeah” Hund said. He shrugged his shoulders slightly raising Ty’s whole body ever so slightly.
The nurse and doctor looked at each other in confusion.
“Dressed like that? Isn’t that hot?” The nurse said referring to all the black on Hund’s outfit.
“I just got out of the gym, alright? Plus, I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating. And it gets everywhere.” Hund said.
“You know there are other ice cream places nearby. Me and the doc here like to go to…”
“I liked the beach ice cream, ok?” Hund said defensively.
“I don’t see why this affects my diagnosis.” The doctor said clearly annoyed by this conversation.
“Well, it’s the reason why I was at the bottom of the tree.” Hund countered.
The doctor paused dumbfounded. “Anyone could have been under that tree when Ty fell! You were just the unfortunate fool who happened to be there at the time.”
“Not true! Ty is a great pred. He just made the foolish mistake of trying to eat someone as meaty as me.” Hund said matter of factly.”
“Ok, enough fool! Let’s fix this miss!”
“Well then Doctor Fool why didn’t you do it sooner?” Hund asked frustratingly. “What’s your plan?”
“Easy, I will sedate your friend here and we will carefully pull him off your head. My nurse should be able to easily assist me. When we are done, we’ll have you cleaned and patched up and I can get back to my studies.” The doctor said.
“Oh, is that what you call our snuggle times together?” The nurse said with a wink.
“Not in front of the patients!” The doctor blurted out. “Now I just need to know your insurance and we can.”
“What’s insurance?” Hund asked.
“You serious?” Kenzie asked again dumbfounded.
“Well, whatever it is I don’t have it.” Hund said bluntly. Ty meanwhile began moaning desperately but his words were garbled by the large husky in his throat.
“You want to pay out of pocket then?” The doctor asked.
“Does it look like I have pockets?” Hund asked snarkily. His dry-fit outfit indeed had no pockets.
The doctor was at the edge of his patience at this point.
“Ok nurse, pull Ty off as hard as you can, ignore the screaming. Pan, you owe me big for this.” The doctor said flatly.
It took more effort than expected to get Ty off but once it was over it seemed the doctor was more grateful to be out of the clinic than Hund was.
For whatever reason, I found this part to be easier than the last one. Maybe its because I like writing for Hund who at this point I've accepted as an utter dumbass. But he's my dumbass and I hope he becomes yours too :). Like before thank you to
MadHatterMonster for the art and for
liger626 for letting me borrow his characters for the clinical staff.
