You unlock the last year's worth of bases with a membership! After each base turns 1 yr old, they retire to the shop. So currently Bronze tier has 12 bases (plus 12 bonus bases) and Silver and higher tiers have the same 24 as Bronze plus 12 additional. There is more detailed info on the "About" page of my Ko-Fi, under "Ko-Fi TOS Information" but that's the jist of it. :)
