I would rather live in an imperfect world of science and forward movement, artificially evolved piece by piece into a future of great worth than squat in the squallor of a "perfect" and peaceful green forest, static and stagnant forever.

There is a way to live in harmony with nature without having to shit all over everything. I mean camping, we have the ability to ration firewood and catch only the fish and rabbit we need to eat for the evening, last year in the Midwest, we were able to ration our clean water... why is it so hard to prevent destroying our environment?
I've had this fight with my wife but she insists I'm silly about it: if I'm not hungry, there is NO need to waste our Goddamned food! Science can only take us as far as our environment and sadly we cannot recreate food or our own resources as of yet. Solar panels and wind turbines only go so far.
I've said it before in one of my Journals but we really need a major cataclysm to take down our numbers so we can live better

6+ billion is way too many for the way we "modern" humans live. We're already in each others laps as it is. I know because I can point you to several dozen 2-3 bedroom homes with no less than 4 and no more than 10 families living in them. Yes, I did say FAMILIES.

I know by saying that I include myself and my family in the equation but can you tell me that millions of people sharing one water source is better than say 20,000?? Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Dallas as an example...

My own area is losing fresh water as we speak. Rather than conserve and maybe limit population growth, new homes are being built and the rights to the water belong to a company in Germany. Every city on earth is an example of this problem.

So where is the original comic? I have yet to find it.
