Well I guess folks should be scared and stuff, but...
The person who should be most scared, is the man who is pulling Tragedies strings and making her act as though she's on some righteous crusade to wipe mankind of the face of the Earth.
Why?
Because when she finds out that she's been used --for the second time--

The more things change, the more they stay the same. One step up and two steps back.
Mankind reached far and high, each time he streched out his hand he found there were that many more wonders there for the taking. Mankind indulged his appetites beyond reason as he rendered the natural checks upon them moot, and his tribes were fruitful and multiplied.
The tribes of humanity grew and grew, only to keep growing as the advantages of such great numbers made themselves evident. As Tribes grew stronger they made war upon themselves, as is natural. As the Pack and Herd challange one another over territory, so to do Tribes raise arms for land and resources, made all the bloodier by Man's genius.
Thus did the Tribes of man swell in numbers and in power, some at the expense of others, but always ever growing.. untill they grew too much.
Mankind, for all his great wonders of steel and plastic, is but flesh and bone himself. Mankind could create a computer that could track every object which passes through the heavens, but his own brain could no longer keep track of his tribe-mates, they were so many...
And so it all began to un-ravel. Mankind, who by his nature will sacrifice all for his own tribe and deny all for his rival tribe, grow more and more selfish as individuals retreated from the Tribe. They had become each a Tribe of One. Fewer babies were born, more died of the neglect of their brothers, still more died at the hands of the smaller Tribes who still knew a Tribe's meaning. All the while there were those who yearned for a simpler time, a Better time, a better Place, a place where nature ruled benevolently and all things lived in harmony with each other.
...they too died, without ever realizing such a place never existed.

It never existed. In reality Nature dosn't promote balance by getting the birds and bees and flowers and trees etc.. to play nice and live in blissfull harmony.. she gets it done by being a stone-cold bitch. A wolf culls the sickly from the herd only because the healthy are too strong to take down. When a stallion mounts a mare made insane by her heat is it really an expression of life-affirming passion or more analogous to a roofied-up date-rape? The same pride of lion that patiently endures the playfull rambunctiousnes of his own cubs and makes you go 'Awwww' on nature-shows brutally killed the cubs of his rival when he took-over the pride.
In the final words of Tragedy's speech one might say that she is becomming that which she claims to fight against. The truth is, she always was.

That's what I was thinking.
In all honesty, I still think my favorite metaphor for nature is a Mother Earth with post-partum depression. It just, explains so much.
That or the kid in school with lice. Sure, everyone feels sorry for her and she gets her own shampoo and all. But not even Saturn will use her brush, and she's the system's tramp.

Nervous....no. As history has stated many times before, though life has always lived with fear of either losing their dominance over all else or anger at being dominated by a foreign race, and let their appetite for new wonders with which to either prevent that loss of dominance or overthrow those who dominate, there always seems to be some core part of basic humanoid psyche that stops us from allowing the balance of nature to be irreversibly upset.
This does promise to get ugly, but will it result in outright extinction? I'd like to remain optimistic and think not.

I bet I'm one of the only ones here who actually remembers that kind of test pattern being on the air though (right after the station ID announcement and the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner" at midnight). That was back when TV stations actually went off the air every night...
