Couldn't think of any real title and you'll probably see why if all this works how I'm hoping it will.
This is a bit of a weird one as I'm not directly telling you a story here. So, for the Thursday Prompt this week, the word for the prompt was "debug".
Per usual, please refer to
ThursdayPrompt for real stories.
I've mentioned it before that I like to try and have my prompt attempts done on Thursday night to keep with the whole 'Thursday' thing, but I was feeling a bit burnt out after a long week (was a good week, just long is all). There is also the matter that I couldn't really think of anything good to put into a written story using this week's prompt. If I miss a Thursday Prompt, I'm going to try and do something big to make up for it. This is big to me in a sense that I'm not very well versed in this particular form of story-telling, but I thought it would be fun to give a go.
It was fun trying to put this together; might have to try again in the future. (Just not in the near future, I spent the better parts of my Saturday and Sunday trying to get all this together and it STILL isn't where I wanted it.)
Addendum: if you do not feel comfortable downloading random files from randoms on the internet, please refer to my response to
below for a brief mention of what this one was. Thank you.

You've got my hopes up; it actually worked?! Yes! Thanks for that!
I was definitely in a bit of a fit after drafting, revising, and posting "Blank Page", but I still planned to contribute to the prompt. Just couldn't think of anything worthwhile to write up so I figured I'd try this over the weekend.
As for the tone, even if I had stuck to it longer and got it where I wanted it, it'd still be just as ambiguous. If it was fully functioning as I wanted, Troy would be able to move up and down and there would be some mildly cryptic dialogue from him saying things along the lines of "Where am I going again?" and "There's nothing behind me." when you try to turn back (at least until the lizard appears, then it would change to "...").
Essentially, I wanted to leave the overall tone up to your own interpretation.

I'm not gonna lie, FtD, I have been conditioned to not run unknown programs due to security concerns. My dad was a programmer and hammered into me the risks associated with such actions. Top that off with working as a bank fraud specialist for years, dealing with the aftermath of people who didn't know better that paid the penalty in thousands of dollars.
So instead, for my sake, can you describe to me what happens instead?

I completely understand; that (and my own personal paranoia) was part of what made me so hesitant to post this. If anything, I'm grateful you just have enough interest to ask what the deal is with this one.
It's just a little, interactive program I made using some reference files in Lua where you control my canine character, Troy, and make him walk from one end of the screen to the other. The thing is, as Troy nears the end of the screen, the lizard appears behind him, chasing after him.

You really aren't missing much; I might as well have just made this another one of my silly pixel art gifs (would have had the same effect).
I just know a little programming, it's a work in progress. Without my tutorials and notes, the most I can accomplish is the 'print ("Hello World!")' example.

I'm sorry about that, if you're interested I think I have a fix now: https://app.box.com/s/1vaq8oiul9bii.....jgv0w8z8xx7jsc
If that doesn't work, I made a mistake about the original link: you didn't need to extract anything (because I'm stupid and didn't put it in a zipped folder) but I'm pretty sure that you would be required to download ALL of the files and keep them all in a single folder somewhere until you decided to delete it.
If that's still not working out, I'll keep looking into it. I've already made a mention of what this was in my first comment to Onic just above, but I would like this work because it was fun to put together. Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention.
