“Huh.” He put it back on the shelf, not noticing that the books around his hand seemed to shift slightly, as if they were just gradually being pulled towards his body. He felt good for some reason, the tiredness wiped from him like a stain beneath a wet cloth. Where he’d walked into the library with a hunched back and a generally worn-out gait, he left with a spring in his step, something very unusual for him.
