Marisa Hila, refer to by her students as Ms. Hila, is a character in Board Way Riders. She is one of the teachers in Zoolog High School, teaching Algebra 2 and Calculus. Ms. Hila graduated from California State University Northridge, majoring in Calculus. Ten years later, she applied for the job to teach Calculus, but ended up getting the position of teaching Algebra 2. After one of the former Calculus teacher retired, the principle gave her the position.
She talks about her childhood in the episode Hila Gila Muy Buena, stating that she was born into a Mexican family with 6 siblings. She moved to California when she was only 5 years old with her mother, who worked as a chief for a fancy restaurant.

Ms. Hila is quite passionate about her field of study as well as her career as a teacher. Having extensive knowledge about math, Ms. Hila is considered to be an absolute math geek. Though it may be true to some extent, she is actually quite the hip woman. Marisa likes to keep up with the trends and fashion of today’s youth, making her likable by her students.
Outside of her occupation, Marisa has been shown to be a cool, fun loving woman with a liking for both music and romance. She is also quite fond of B.W. culture, as she has many of the graffiti stickers on her personal laptop and briefcase.
Marisa is also a bit perverse, as she has a collection of magazines, many STUDS Monthly, and questionable novels in her house and or on her person. Her novels of chose are usually consisting of male on male romance.
