So I wanted to elaborate more as I was inspired by one of my previous submissions to create an AU for Sonic and his friends. This isn't my final idea, as I probably will be changing some things, but I will do my best to explain the basic concept.

So the world is a distant past, one that is taking a different route to the one we know. There is no technology and there are no people, only the creature friends we know and are familiar with. The continents of Mobius currently exist as one and within the centre of land mass is a massive tree, growing from the power of the Master Emerald. The master emerald currently exists as a clump of prism stone beneath the earth in which the tree sits and grows. The power and limit of the prism is currently unknown to the land's inhabitants, but the one thing that is clear is it feeds and nurtures the land and plants, providing food for an abundance of prey animals and herds in order to thrive and graze seemingly limitless. With such nutrients available, prey animals live and grow in plentiful numbers, in which predator animals can hunt without fear of starving or need for migration.

This lasted as far as any animal can remember, but the peace in which the creatures lived was soon to change. Cracks had formed in the emerald prism and a massive earth quake had caused the land to split and shift, the tree was destroyed due to the carnage of the continental shift and the prism was torn into multiple large pieces. As a result of this drastic change, biomes were formed, arctic, volcanic, desert and coasts were created and in the heart of each new land mass was a giant shard of emerald, providing and empowering the new land. Floating islands became nesting grounds for creatures that could fly, mountains of Ice and snow became home to strong and courageous beasts of the cold, Volcanoes were home to fire breathing warriors with skin like armour, the forests were home to stealthy predators and prey that utilise the many valleys and trees to graze and hunt, deserts were home to the cunning and mischievous creatures and the seas and rivers were home to those that could swim.

Though this land change had created a new age for the creatures and things would no longer be the same. Animals were forced to adapt to survive, the want for the best territories and food sources would soon become more prevalent and creatures determined to survive found any means necessary to keep their kin alive, even if it meant blood shed. Violent fights and outbursts were more common and those that couldn't keep up were left behind.

This lifestyle reigned to our present day, where my story follows an adventurous Wolfhog and his friends in a seemingly constant battle for survival and the need to protect the place he calls home...

So this is a brief summary of my idea of an AU, I really like the idea and got a lot of inspiration from various games and movies. Including the new show Sonic Prime and Final Fantasy XIV, as I think of more stuff I can add, I will edit this, but for not it's really simple.
