I once stopped to marvel at the beauty of Ice.
There's a whole Secret of Nature hidden within it. Beautiful, encrypted within the endlessly sophisticated patterns.
It calls to me, urges me to utter Questions. Why do the things I touch become Cold?
What is Cold, if not the mere absence of heat?
Ice preserves. In its Stillness, it wards off Decay. As if Time itself could be frozen.
The wounds, they neither heal nor fester.
The Frost invokes an everlasting Order. Yet still, Ice succumbs to Warmth.
Maybe I do not have any more Warmth of my own. Other living things do, nevertheless. Peculiar.
I still see. I still... Am. A Watcher, a thrall to the Frost.
