Character reference for my character Mengben [猛賁]! An educated wandering martial artist doing his best to protect and help others, eventually becoming a folk hero to his people. Trained in wielding shuang liuyedao [柳葉刀], dual willow leaf sabers, he is a Xiatan [下壇], tigerfolk with ties to the Huye [虎爺], guardian tiger deities tasked with protecting temples, villages, and cities. His outfit consists of a conical hat [斗笠], surcoat [比甲], cross collar shirt and pants [裋褐], sash [絲套], greaves and vambraces with mountain scale armor, straw shoes, and a Xiatan Amulet. He also wears undergarments akin to a tanktop and boxers [抱腹] and [犊鼻裈].
