I still do comics too.
I really wish I could look at nostalgic videos on YouTube without people making it some kind of generational competition. People my age do this and it annoys the heck out of me. You not liking modern music/shows/etc does not make it BAD taste is subjective stop being arrogant. I’ve been bad about keeping up with new stuff but I don’t consider a piece of media bad just because it doesn’t resonate with me personally. If it’s bringing someone somewhere joy and it’s not outright harmful then it’s meaningful to them.
Thanks to all the folks who gave welcome backs. I don’t always have it in me to reply to everyone but I do see and appreciate them.

Pie is a treasure and getting new comic is amazing.
I think that big part of this stems from wanting to show off that you had something better, instead of admitting that you grew up with something that was even at the time considered mediocre and things are generally better now than they were when you were young. There's lots of gems in the past, but to ignore everything made in the past 20 years just for the sake of argument is just plain ignorance.

Thank you SO much. You're epic for finally saying this.
I hate the obsession with Nostalgia as a weapon lately. Worst part is it blinds these people. Stuff they claim is new and ruining their old shit is literally in that same old shit. But they just don't notice it because past=perfect.
Things weren't "better" back then. You just are more aware of how it's ALWAYS been now.

It’s a peeve of mine. I’m a fairly big believer in things balancing out. There are pros and cons to every time period, and us having windows to SO many other lives than we have in any other point in history due to social media makes things that were always around seem like ‘a new problem’.
Totally. I feel like Social Media is warping our perceptions in more way than we realize. We've never been this connected to each other before and I feel like we're not adjusted yet.
As you say, we think some things are new but now are just more visible.
It could also stem from the general apathy and doomerism that's plaguing our generation. We feel like we can't change things, so we want to escape.
