I have a fondness for Umber, the one of Clay's sibs who is overtly referenced as gay. I like how the graphic novel adaptation frequently portrays him upside down. It's lead to a running gag between my friends that being upside down is some kind of draconic signifier of homosexuality.
Can't say I was particularly thrilled when he got written out of the story early, along with Carnelian.
And of course I also love Turtle, but you likely knew that already.

I might be exaggerating the upside-downness for comedic effect, but there are three instances of him doing it in the scene he's introduced in. In two of those he's even flying upside down, so I guess my mind grabbed on to him as "Clay's acrobatic gay brother".
His appearances are very sparse, yes. He gets another mention later on, where it's described that, when he was around, him and Turtle would sleep with their backs touching.

Two of my favourite Wings-of-Fire characters, appearing in Feb most adorable heart-melting scene and poses possible. What is there not to like?
I didn’t notice the tendency for Umber to be inadvertently acrobatic until now, but I’m amused as fuck at the link you’ve drawn between upside-down and gayness, haha.
The tail-twine is great - whether it’s platonic friendliness or not, we need more dragon tail-twining in art.
