This is a song I wrote about a man who gets so attached to others that he, in a sense, feels what they feel emotion-wise, but he enjoys being the one to lend an ear and open mind when he can. Inside he grows attached to the negative emotions and eventually finds joy within them. When one of his closest friends dies in a suicide, his mutual feelings and sympathy take its toll on him and cause him to wish the same fate upon himself.
