Fun historical fact.
Just like how the bible was put together from handfuls of popular folk-tales and pamphlets thread together like a Frankenstein monster into some sort of 'narrative'.
Easter was created by decree in 350-ce by pope Julius the first (337-ce to 352-ce) because they were moving his birthday to dec 25, to compete /assimilate the more popular feast of Saturnalia. Easter was soon put in it's place so the 'holiday' staved new religion wouldn't lose members to other faiths.
