Hee-Ho, Howdy everyone... I feel like something that is not touched upon is the idea of what's "behind" Planet Materia where most events take place in Skin to Scales. That it ends up being unexplained or even common knowledge in the grand scheme of things. That it might seem like the characters are talking about some simple alien goldilocks planet. Planet Materia though in-canon is known as the "Spawning Pool of the Gods" as all Dragons in the realm actually come from this place. Its very conception was created back in Cycle 9 as the final piece and resting place for one to gain immortality and ascend into godhood. However, back then, it was a planet and simply a toybox for the gods to challenge those who could rise up and sit by their place while they planned out a brand-new universe. (AKA: Cycle 10), but things did not go to plan... A massive destructive event took place that wiped out most of the known universe and with such a gathering of energy, created what is known as Cycle 10. The only remains of the planet are an incredibly warped creation where the realm had become entirely flat and is now slowly moving throughout the newly made cosmos.
From the outside looking in, it looks like a planet-sized portal that sucks many things into it's gravitational pool. Always seemingly on the move and even being able to warp from place to place and choosing brand new spots as the realm is somewhat unstable. Riding on the very existence of the multiverse and having multiple god-like realms stacked underneath it with the crust layer being made out of what was left of the original planet and its surrounding neighbors. This place, this very realm, is sought out by many adventurers only to find themselves trapped there for all eternity with no way out. Many spaceships will find themselves automatically drawn inside of its pull only to crash-land on the mysterious death world filled to the brim with many creatures, loot and artifacts that have never been seen before. Entire space civilizations have attempted to conquer the realm only to find themselves lost or overwhelmed by the wildlife, being forced back to a medieval fantasy era with much of their knowledge now lost. Only to add to the pool of lost knowledge and fallen civilizations that the planet now has a firm grasp on.
The cast of Skin to Scales are not the first to try and conquer this land, and they will not be the last. The Ultrinian's once used this place as their home world only for it to fall apart and to be forced underground in hidden laboratories by the native wildlife and its inhabitants. The same goes with the Plantaran Republic as they've sent hundreds of thousands of civilian and cultivation vessels... Only to never have them be seen again. That the Plantaran Presence is still there, entire empires built off of the vessels that once landed there, but the technology, knowledge and who they once were, now entirely lost. Not to mention Angel-Tech also tried to invade the realm many times with their portal technology so humans may gain the divine knowledge they need to conquer the gods... Only for them to end up stranded and without a purpose and so they erected towns and cities in a place that physically hates their presence. This realm is where the Dragons were born and created from Thomza and Tia's own presence, and many other gods who rose to power only to have them be cut down by one another or even mortals. A place where the Scalebolds call their home as well as many other species being born and created here, such as the Alpha Fruit Kobold. The most common species to find here are Scalebolds, Humans, Narui (Shark-Like People), Imps, Goblins, Wraiths/Spirits, Robots, Snakemen and Plantarans. This being the "vast majority" as you can find them all over the planet with their struggle of survival against one another and the terrifying wildlife that can sometimes touch the clouds.
The realm is incredibly hostile, it's always forever changing, and its dungeons are physically alive and breathing underneath the surface as it continues to grow as it absorbs more and more around itself. It myaswell be considered its entirely own entity at this point. However, the realm is always seemingly under threat, let it be from the Cult of the Falling Dragon, King Keii and his quest to be the one true godslayer, Angel-Tech trying to invade and properly conquer the heavens, or even Maxwell plotting something new from the shadows... It is a land of gods and their followers constantly trying to usurp one another for power and a land of ancient mystery. A place of endless adventure with extreme peril around every single corner. Where everything is on an incredibly epic scale and is the main "play area" of Skin to Scales where most events take place.
...and I think that about covers everything i have to talk about. I'll get more into the history of the planet with even more data logs down the line and descriptions. I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful day, thank you for reading! Seeya around everyone!

I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
