In my personal AU, I believe Taka and Sarafina got pregnant pretty young compared to Mufasa and Sarabi.
Taka is also drawn a bit more soft and rounded, as he was healthier and at a better weight than when he becomes Scar, my theory being that he gets so thin because he shares most of his meals with the hyenas, only eating enough for himself to get by.
The time in his life when he is with Sarafina would be the happiest he ever would be.. if only it were to last..

I support the fan theory that Taka and Serafina were close when they were young. In fact, when Taka (by this time he had taken the name "Scar") became the leader of the Ndona pride, he chose Serafina as his first queen, and from the relationship a male lion cub was born, Mheetu "the white prince" (because he was born with white fur), Mheetu stayed in the pride until young adulthood, but once, like his half-sister Nala, he ran away and hasn't been seen since.

In my HC, Taka and Sarafina have Mheetu still, but they believe him to be stillborn and lay him to rest near the pride border. It ends up being that he is found by a wandering rogue lioness who discovers he is still alive, and nurses him back to health. She raises him, and he simply never knows his real parents.
