Pommelia is home to more than tall primates and simians, it is also home to a bunch of special fruits made out of crystal, which grow on tropical trees also made out of it. Naturally these fruits couldn't be eaten or digested by the usual person, but the Pommelians possess powerful jaws AND iron stomachs, and as such can eat these fruits with ease. They love doing it too, even holding a festival every once a year called the Crystal Consumption Race (or CCR), where the denizens all try to gather up as much fruit as they can, with the winners being allowed to dine on as much as they wish. The remaining fruits are usually diced up and turned into juices that act as the Pommelians' drinks, which are even more invigorating than eating them! Not to mention tasty~ Almost each fruit has varying types and give varying points in the challenge, which are as follows:
Crystananas
The most beloved fruit on Pommelia, Crystananas are highly sought after by all Pommelians, who just can't get enough of them. Each one besides four gems, two on each side, which can be pulled out to unpeel the fruit, revealing the shining body underneath. This body is edible even by those lacking hard jaws and stomachs, and they possess enough nutrients to drive a tired elephant off of his feet and send it running! They come in magenta/pink, yellow/red and green/blue colours respectively, with the magenta/pink ones giving 20 points, the yellow/red ones giving 15 points and the green/blue ones giving 17 points in the CCR. The gems inside Crystananas contain its energies, which the Pommelians use either for fashion or magic arts.
Mangleamo
Mangleamos are somewhat rare compared to the other fruits of the island, only growing inside the depths of its jungles. Coincidentally, they're also one of the few fruits not to have a round, grasping tip like the other fruits, but instead stick to the branches and other parts of what they grow on with their spike-like tips. The nutrients they have are even greater than that of a Crystanana, but as a result they could cause the eater to become out of control due to the rush they feel. For Pommelians it's not a bother so long as they don't consume too many of them, and they are commonly used as energy boosters by them, whenever they're feeling tired and want a pick-me-up. Their gems, being bigger than a Crystanana's, are even more potent than the other ones and are more commonly used for magic than fashion. They come in orange, blue and hazel colours, which offer 40, 35 and 50 points in the CCR respectively.
Dimrians
Ever seen a durian in real life? Well, Pommelia has its own kind known as Dimrians, which are even worse. These things are made of a foul energy that makes them produce a horrid smell, even worse than that of a durian, and their crystalline states make them even sharper to the touch too. These are one of the few fruits on the island that doesn't come in other colours, and they are constantly avoided by its denizens for their smells alone. But the taste...You would have be either disgusting, suicidal or idiotic to take a bite out of one of these. Never mind the fact its exterior is sharp and hard, the inside is super-mushy and appalling to eat, and could cause the eater to perish if they were some normal being. For Pommelians and beings with similar strengths to them though, it would simply knock them out and give them a fever that lasts for a few days. It's also said that when they drop from a high-enough height, such as from the tall trees they grow on, they explode and create a decent-sized cloud of gas, which weakens nearby organic and mechanic objects and life until it fades away. Strong or big enough clouds could even erode said objects and life completely! Because of this, Dimrians don't give any points during a CCR; in fact, if someone were dumb enough to bring one back with them, they lose 100 points instead!
Gemapes
Gemapes are crystal grapes that many would say resemble Christmas decorations, but to the Pommelians, they are delectable treats that are served in the dozens. Clumps of them grow in crystalline bushes, but some also grow on the trees like the other fruits. Because of their smallness and commonplaceness, the blue ones give 5, the purple ones give 7, and the peach/orange ones give 3 points in the CCR, and are usually sought out by younglings. When being served as food in the village, they are usually put into bowls or given as clumps, and the palace dwellers usually eat them in a similar, if not identical fashion to a sultan.
To be continued...?
Coming at ya'll with another pic, and this one is of foods coming from
Monkey-Lover's home island~ After mentioning Crystananas in the last Royal Quad pic, I've been thinking of drawing up what they look like for all to see, as well as a bunch of other fruits for variety. I call this Part 1 because I may draw up more of these fruits if I can find anymore to use. For now, hope you like these. ^^

I cannot thank you enough for this help in building up lore to my island home.
The Crystal Consumption Race and what the fruits add in points to what their gems do
makes the tropical home REALLY cool~ Wish I thought of the contest, but all I could think
is a rhythm beat dancing competition. Clever use of the points and crystals ideas, too. XD
That Dimrians info was nuts and I can't believe they are basically BOMBS of decaying scents
which could destroy life. Freaking genius writing. XD
