Drawing these characters for the first time was definitely.. interesting lol.
I modeled Fuli after a King Cheetah, which is what I think the creators were going for with her weird leopard spots that were going on. I tried to make her look a little bit more like she might look if she was in a real Lion King movie, and based her features off of cheetahs that are shown in them, with the lanky legs, small, angular muzzle, and the more triangular shaped ears, and of course included the iconic teardrop markings.
I used some real photo references as well, to make kind of a mix of features for all of them here.
Luckily there were some hippos featured in TLK 2, so I tried to make Beshte resemble them at least a little!
Bunga.. is Bunga.. lol (probably one of my least favorite characters ahh) but I did my best."
