I love ferrets. There are no two ways about it. If you keep them clean they don't smell horrid! I mean, they can't help it! This one, Jasmine, was so tired she was totally limp the whole time I held her. <3333

There are special shampoos for ferrets as well as dusts to rub into their fur. Really they are as clean and stinky as cats. The whole "smell" thing is a myth. They are not as stinky as people claim. That is so long as you tend to them hygenically as any animal. Personally I find cats smell more than ferrets
We wipe ours down with baby wipes cuz its not too harsh on their fur and skin. If you clean the cage frequently, have them litter trained and keep them bathed they only smell minimally. Oh, and as mustelids they naturally have scent glands like skunks, but you can have those removed. It does take some work. Its well worth it though.
I was thinking of getting a pet Ferret myself, so my three cats could have a companion to play with. I've seen videos on how cats and ferrets all day long; it kinda reminded me of seeing to Otters playing in water at my Zoo. But my parents are only found of cats, they don't even like dogs.... blasphemy I say!
Well I hope to get a ferret of my own in the future if I move out, having Asperger's an' all can hinder a lot when it comes to being independent and eventually moving out of your parents house.
