MALAKAS Project - Lead Professionals 01
If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
Background:
-Christopher North had just started the MALAKAS Project in the mountain base (a mile away from the city) on the first day and was in need for certain professionals to help it function like a little city. He was in need of people such as a janitor or a gardener to keep the base clean, those such as a doctor or a paramedic to treat illnesses, those such as a carpenter or a party planner to provide entertainment and opportunities, and those such as a microbiologist or a botanist to further research for the project. So far, he began scouting and handpicking potential candidates to lead specific professions around the mountain base.
a) Aiden Haughtnuts the Janitor
-Despite actually hailing from the predominantly beaver town of Brisa Creek, Aiden Haughtnuts felt he was born in the wrong time as he began to notice the migration of his fellow squirrels residing there. Witnessing a serious harrassment by adult beavers day by day was enough for him to leave the beaver town. Aiden moved into the city of Santo Tomas in hopes of finding a plain job, only to be hired by the mayor as the janitor in the city hall, much to his relief, though he was supposed to find himself a new home first. Aiden was then immediately picked by the mayor's son Christopher, as he accidentally got in Chris' way. He proved to be so resourceful and diligent, that he was gifted a powerwashing gun and its luggage trolley as a reward. However, he only dared to use it in self-defense, due to being familiar with traditional cleaning easier than high-pressured washing. He barely had any idea how to fight at all
b) Omar Akhkhadh the Plumber
-The only son of one migrant family from Lebanon, Omar was gifted with good level of intelligence as he displayed a dozen of contraptions till the end of high school. Lacking enough money to start his college studies, Omar instead resorted to work as a plumber, the very thing his father used to be. For few years, he was doing fine on his own, despite disapproval from clients over his bizarre creations, until Chris summoned him to fix his fountain. Witnessing the camel making his own flamethrower out of pipes and a small propane tank, Chris happily transfered him into the mountain base, much to his confusion, but Omar would eventually make friends there while doing his normal job. Should he want to fight back instead, he could only rely on his pipe-based contraptions as he spent more time on them than on fighting.
c) John Sliver the Carpenter
-John Sliver was raised in a Baptist community at the outskirts of Santo Tomas and previously made a good use of a leader in construction, but he proved to be so hot-tempered that he often yelled at those under his side, and sometimes attacked them for a serious mistake, especially concerning about important projects. At age of 18, after being kicked out from the community for such behavior, he would move into the city and do menial jobs in hopes of forgetting his past. However, he was on a verge of giving up, when Chris approached him. Although pessimistic at his life, John would nevertheless agree to do his job in the mountain base, though he would have to get used to recruits' shenanigans. However, his temper allowed him to beat down those coming after him, either by hand or through construction means.
d) Mary Sue Tammis the Cook
-The only daughter of a single Filipina nurse who came to America to work, Mary Sue would learn to cook, just to feed herself and her hardworking mom, but the latter became so impressed with her cooking that it became a passion. Although lacking money for enrollment in high school, Mary Sue took opportunity to work in a canteen to serve students. As she reached 18, she was approached by Chris who learned of her job and took her in for the mountain base. She was given her own canteen and a small workforce of two under her command, and despite being uncomfortable with recruits (especially with their perverted advances), she was more happy to work if it meant preparing to become a chef once she was relieved from duty. And speaking of uncomfortable, she used to be the one-time champion back in a local Arnis competition, but that could not always translate well with stronger opponents in the mountain base.
e) Thea Edwa the Tailor
-Despite being raised in a progressive community in a rather gentrified district in Santo Tomas, Thea Edwa turned out to be socially awkward and preferred working on a humble job such as a tailor, but tended to make a mess with clothes and sewing materials alike. Chris learned of her troubles nearing termination of her job, and took her in for the mountain base out of pity. Thea was still clumsy but with fellow tailors' assistance, she managed to improve herself. As she became a Super Soldier, her confidence outgrew her social awkwardness and she developed a habit of lecturing her clients, which left her with mixed results. And as if her lecturing wasn't enough, she bore an audacity to use a small sewing machine modified with a grappling mechanism, let alone coming up with amateur level of Karate as her last resort. Nevertheless, she became optimistic in going back to her workplace once after her duty.
f) Rosalynn Prakayfi the Laundromat Assistant
-Rosalynn used to be a young recurring activist in Bangkok, until a disastrous demonstration left her eyes blinded for life, through an unapproved patent of a chemically harmful tear gas. Fearing for her life and despite being blind, she managed to fight her way out, all through hearing and touching senses, and additionally her experience in Muay Thai, into the US to seek sanctuary with her elder brother, who was happy to bring her in. She took herself a second chance through working in a local laundromat alongside other Thai women, right in Santo Tomas. Chris, following the complaint from scientists having to endure their test subjects' stenched clothes, was so impressed with the way Rosalynn was doing her job with her eyes always closed, that he picked her for the job in the mountain base. While she had her own laundromat to run there alone, she was also vulnerable to recruits hitting on her due to her appearance, but it was a 50-50 chance in which she would either happily accept their offer or refuse it with a literal jab to their face.
