Hi again! I’m back with another mini review! This time, it’s with some upcoming animated films for this year!
Just so you all know, this is my opinion on these movies, don’t comment if you hate it.
The Little Mermaid
Honestly, I could care less about this one. I’m done with Disney remakes mostly because it’s the same thing, but live action. Disney has done these many times before, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Lady and the Tramp and even Pinocchio. Now in my opinion, the only Disney remake I’ve ever enjoyed was Beauty and the Beast, but I’m just getting off track here. The Little Mermaid was a great film, I remember watching it when I was a little girl and I still love it to this day! Now that we are introduced to a live action version of Ariel and the gang, I think I’ll skip this one! The live action version of Flounder and Sebastian are hard for me to watch. I’m sure the actors are doing their best with this project, but I think I’ll just stick with the original instead.
Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken
Okay, this one looks good. Not something I’m impressed by, but I like the story and animation. The flow of the characters reminds me a whole lot of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (then again, can anything great come out of Sony Animation?). I think this one will be okay!
Elemental
I’m done with people on YouTube saying that this is just a copy of Zootopia! Sure, I see why, but can you all just chill?! This movie might be good! I love how Pixar is trying to get back into the swing of things with romance, you know, after what they did for Wall-E. I don’t care what any of you say, I think Elemental will be great!
Strays
Why so much hate on this film? Since this one is made by the same people who made Ted, I think this will be fun! Sure, the story is bland, but hey, maybe this film will turn out to be enjoyable! Just like with Elemental, I’m excited for this one!
Trolls 3
No, you are not tripping! This is real! I cannot believe we’re going back to this god forsaken franchise! Dreamworks, what happened to you?! You had a successful year last year with The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and THIS is what you produce next?!?!?!? Yeah, I’m not interested! Screw the Trolls! They were already bland the first time!

All right, you know what, I’m just going to leave Illumination and the people behind this one alone. For me, this one looks boring. I’m not going to say anything bad about this film already, since it only has a teaser trailer out. I will give them some credit for having great animation, but that’s about it.

What do you think about Disney's upcoming animated movie, Wish? It'll be the movie to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary, and it will tell the story of how the Wishing Star originated, thus connecting with Pinocchio, Peter Pan and The Princess and the Frog.
