Since drawing portraits of older and under-utilized characters was something I was using as a bit of a "comfort subject"/practice for getting back into art, here's more portrait cuteposting, this time featuring Starfarer Chandra Reva.

In descriptions and titles in the past, I have been a bit inconsistent about my use of the term "Reva Clan" vs. "Reva Alliance", which both describe the same nomadic faction of explorers. In the time since I last drew her, I decided both terms are canon, but with slightly different usages--the "Reva Clan" is the largest and oldest clan in the "Reva Alliance", hence why the Alliance bears their name.
The Reva Clan is one large nomadic clan, known throughout the galaxy as peaceful and neutral nomads and explorers (many of the hyperspace routes used in modern times were actually plotted by the Reva thousands of years ago), often bearing the surname "Reva" (their family surname tends to occupy a space similar to the "middle name" in human cultures). Meanwhile, the "Reva Alliance" contains not only the Reva Clan, but a couple smaller allied clans including nomadic clans of other species.
While it may seem absurd for a galaxy-spanning nomadic alliance to actually have any permanent roots, a sort of "Reva Alliance space" does exist, consisting of a loose collection of worlds they have colonized over the eons, and a scattered handful of (often remote and isolated) worlds that have friendly relations with the Reva.
As for the artwork, this was from my "experiment with different hairstyles a bit" kick and I'm not 100% sure I like how I parted her hair in this one or the expression I gave her, even if it is 100% in character for her to portray such confidence and eagerness for adventure that it borders on arrogance or recklessness--maybe she heard that the last comet her cruiser captured to extract water from was carrying some hostile life-forms, and as part of her duties as engineer/security officer it time for her to grab her blaster pistol and splattering the intruders across the cargo bay walls!
