That's because, sadly to say it, many comic artist don't draw many backgrounds...
A correct background construction needs perspective, at least if it's not a simple wall, front shot

I tried to use vanishing points but I end up screwing things up and it often slows me down. i do need to do more cityscape/ building scenes. I got some really big characters and I need to do some perspective.
