Pretty sure normal rats are omnivores, to the point of even eating rotten stuff. If it doesn't make them sick, they'll eat it. If it does, they'll avoid it like the plague, and they have an excellent memory and sense of smell.

And if they're very hungry and the swarm is large enough, they could probably kill a full-sized human. So... yeah. Space rats are probably worse, given how much time they've spent eating and being exposed to God knows what, and breeding like they normally do. Probably gonna need some clever traps to deal with these pests.
