There will come a poet~
I decided to make a clumsy sketchy mini comic about my process of writing a poem
Today's Mirra's birthday, and I decided instead of doing the usual things... to write some kind of song lyrics. Or a poem.
I don't know. But the main snag is that since there is no gender neutral pronounce in our native language, yet I would like to have it in the text, and plus Mirra likes English language better, so.
So I decided to write in English.
It was MUCH harder than I thought, my level is not enough to understand how well I use the words I want to rhyme and if the sentences are grammatically correct. I mean, whether native speakers talk like that at all.
About the 3 frame - I know that reindeer don't have upper teeth, but for this scene I decided to draw them anyway.
About the last frame - well, that's one way to get the antlers off... right? It's time for female reindeer to do it, anyway
Here goes the poem:
Amidst the forest deep and fair,
The person stands so pure and rare,
Sturdy and tall like willow trees
Yet gentle like the morning breeze
With eyes that glinted like the moon,
They work at dawn they work at noon.
That tall stranger plants the trees
With careful hands and thoughtful ease,
The person's soul is intertwined,
With nature's beauty unconfined,
A bond that cannot be undone,
A life from seeds to trees, begun.
Their hair cascades in shiny streams,
As sunlight dances through the trees,
Observing all the nature's charms,
Protecting woods from any harms.
Their steps so gentle on the ground,
Leaves and twigs make not a sound,
From south hills they looked afar
At their grove, wide and bizarre,
As this person seeds, with eyes agleam
Their face reflecting the sunset's beam
The rain may come, the wind may blow,
But these brave sprouts will surely grow.
Beneath the shining summer sun.
The seedlings grow one by one
Up toward the sky with grace and pride,
And stand there strong with branches wide.
The soil, once barren, now alive,
Their trees are in bloom, and bees arrive,
A person stands quiet, yet not alone,
For all the woods being their home,
Amidst the forest deep and fair
They honored by its silent prayer
For nature's power, beauty, and grace
And for the peace reclaims this place
So if you seek the person rare,
Amid the trees, you'll find them there,
A friend to plants both tall and low
A true guardian we blessed to know
A friend to all plants great and small
A forest king beloved by all – alternative

It's like me and trying to make art. I have a minimal scene with simple shaped characters in mind then I go to create it and it turns into "why hand no do the thing mind thunk earlier?"
I loved the running around the room part. I get that all the time when I get frustrated. It definitely helps.

Ah, I believe that the best comments I get are where people say they can relate to what I show about myself. Sorry to hear you have these struggles about your art. In my experience, I would say that this will pass with practice. (I mean, it's probably super obvious, but I decided to say it, aaaaa, sowwy)
And I am happy you lave that running part, weeee~
I was doubtful if I should keep it, because my attempt to get that anthro body to do leaps and bounds in circle looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8t_1E3EWUg
Unfortunately, my room is very small and cluttered to run around in there, but I do have a habit of walking-pacing back and forth in a straight line, and it does help to shed some emotions ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶t̶l̶e̶r̶s̶

I'm sharing a 1 bedroom apartment with a sibling at the moment. Feel like a sardine but I can still get that wound up energy out with jumping jacks :)
Also I finished something I'd been working on over the past 6 days. I normally can't do much at a time but made a whole bunch of progress and finished it. Still looks like a kid made it but it's huge progress for me :D

Despite it being a nervous behavior, I am actually can't help but being glad when people say they can relate to what I show about myself.
You mean removing antlers this way? Female reindeer shed their antlers in the spring, so I think I imagine that here the antlers are ready to shed on their own, I just helped them out a little bit.
By the way, have you ever seen how easily (sort of?) they usually fall off?
There's a moose in this video, but still. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vT2gsJ8KbY
Well actually add this "ack" to show some brief pain just in case
Thank you for your feedback, it means a lot to me!
