important context for my understanding of dsmp characters is that my main source of dsmp content is actually the fanfiction series orphan’s path. i have little to no knowledge on how accurate orp characters are to dsmp canon and my only other source is what i overhear online/what my irl friends explain to me

“fox” was a given, and he’s named after sootfire. sootfire is already the type of person you would get named after, and i like how foxfire’s name can contribute to his issues with sootfire. his feelings towards his warrior name fluctuate.
his design was pretty easy; he’s a fox. and i came into it knowing i wanted him to look a LOT like sally. with the way he is in oprhan’s path i like the vibe of him carrying these reminders of his past without having much control over it and how that affects his relationships. the only traits that come directly from sootfire are the downward turn of his cheek fur and his back/shoulder marking (which in turn comes from crowtalon!). and the streak as well, i guess. the rest is all sally: his general colors (their skin color is exactly the same), markings, even his bangs are based on sally’s rather than sootfire’s. their ear shapes are the same as well. he’s an echo of his mother and desperate for his fathers attention and approval and i just Really Like Him.
