Based off the concept art for both Linya and Hiccup from about a month ago, this is the second of five images that make up 'official art' for my upcoming book, The Planeswalker: Between Skies. Once again,
inert-ren did an outstanding job.
The book is still being edited and polished because I want it to be as good of a story as I can possibly tell, and that takes a lot of refinement. But if you keep an eye on my writing account,
codelizard, or just wait for me to post a journal about it here, you can read it when it is published.
In addition to showing Linya and her familiar in more detail, it also shows them together to better illustrate their relative sizes. And it's a more dynamic pose featuring Linya casting a lightning bolt. The bigger picture also means that the gem on the crosspiece of Linya's spectacles is visible now; they are magical and not for vision correction purposes.
Hiccup is an inherently magical creature and floats in the air under her own power; Linya cannot fly without the aid of magic, which she does not know as she is focused on offensive magic.

Argue and bicker, no, but Hiccup has a sharp tongue and is full of snark, while Linya is quite direct and is certainly not above making a sarcastic remark or two. At the end of the day, though, the bond of a familiar is a special sort of companionship, and even if they exchange sharp words now and then they will be there for each other when it matters.
