Actually they can depending on how thick their fur is.... My little girl can still get sunburned without proper protection....

No irritation, no "burn." What you are seeing is just a tanning.

I imagine fur can get sun-bleached, though.

No, because even vets will tell you animals can get sunburned and heatstroke just like humans which is why certain species cover themselves up in mud or dirt or don't come out till early morning or late evenings.....

I'm not disagreeing with that. I said that it's not burning, but tanning. There's more to a sunburn that skin coloration: it's skin layers being damaged by UV radiation.

My dog's skin is normally pink when covered up by fur, but when exposed to sunlight it turns black. I don't know if that can be defined as a sunburn, because her nose and paw pads are always black (she's a Husky).

He shoulda said that he was a rare dark Albino
who looks just like a normal guy but still burns
like a Vampire while under the sun. That way she would first have
to battle her guilt in case he really was...
