And finally for the third and final piece to upload tonight. I've been wanting to revisit a character I have done before, which was originally going to be Lyall (I will make an effort to make them my next character to draw), but in the end, I had that ARCSverse itch, and so decided to go ahead and draw Spitfire once more!
Once again, Spitfire proved to be a nightmare to draw. Namely in the form of the new angle of the head for Spitfire (which proves to be a nightmare to draw when applied at an angle), whilst the torso also took a painfully long time to work out the right angle to draw it, namely because the last piece I did featuring Spitfire kinda had his waist obscured, so I had to rework his torso to make it work. Plus, hunched characters or bodies at an angle have proved tricky. This took a painful amount of references, and linework attempts to get right until I managed to get to the lower legs, which were quite easy in comparision. But I'm really happy with the way Spitfire came out! Having a background featuring a part of the ARCSverse is also really damn nice to boot.
As a reminder, Spitfire is an Adaptive and Regenative Combat System, also known as an ARCS or an Arcbot. Essentially, ARCS are walking, sapient 3D fabricators that can produce a huge variety of weapons and equipment. The end result of the world of Arkaris' mass, unregulated production of 3D printers and fabricators, leading to the collapse of most regular nation-states, and the emergence of new socialist, anarchist, corperate and hybrid societies alongside the few remaining regular nation states. Spitfire is one such Arcbot who is based in the hybrid state of the Republic of Manchester. Here he is looking bemused outside a hangar not far from one of the primary cities in Manchester.
Whilst I will be doing Lyall next, I will be moving on to do other ARCSverse characters in time, including two more ARCs that I will namedrop. Hellcat and Hurricane. I'm looking forward to showing more of the ARCSverse and Arkaris in time!
