Family: Father: Alexander Ethelinda (Floatzel) Mother: Joy Ethelinda (Vaporeon)
History:
Born to a family centered around an impressive beautification business, Margaret was raised to be the shrewd businesswoman her mother was; cold and ruthless but successful and intelligent. She endured lessons regarding stocks and accounting, exercises in forming business agreements and judging employees, stories and documentaries about the best and worst figures in the history of executives… but since the girl was being taught this whilst she was about five it really just went straight over her head. Whilst the knowledge was implanted in her from an early age she never really had the passion to use it or follow in her parents’ footsteps, simply going along with it to impress her parents. With her parents’ proud of her early knowledge she ended up quite spoilt by her rich family for her skills despite her age.
However, only far later in life did Margaret find her passion in life. Bought a teenagers’ robotics set for her ninth birthday she fell in love with the subject, forcing all her focus and time into understands the mechanics behind it all with her impressive intellect. Her parents, whilst worried about her lack of interest in the business world they had envisioned for their daughter, encouraged her in her new interest, believing it was just a phase. Unfortunately, they were quite wrong.
Still interested in the subject at the age of twelve Margaret’s parents finally set about forcing her out of her interest; confiscating all of the girl’s much loved robotics parts and creations, leaving the girl frustrated and confused, as she had become used to being spoilt by her parents. Enraged Margaret went down the path that many teenagers followed; one of rebellion and frustration, although hers started at a relatively early age. However, due to her naivety rather than attempting to work out this hatred by simple arguments and rebellion against their interests Margaret set her eyes upon becoming a real villain, like those she’d seen in so many movies and TV shows. After all, robotics always seemed to be pair up with such characters, so Margaret believed that she could pursue her interest via this villainy, rather than relying on education and the like.
Sent to the PCA by her parents with her timetable laid out to make sure she would become a businesswoman Margaret was left frustrated at the school for allowing her to be railroaded so easily, only to end up being able to focus her robotic passion once more via one of the school’s staff-run clubs. With her robotics at hand and her eyes on infamy, Margaret has set out to truly defy her parents and the world, despite her age… with about as little success as one would expect.
Personality:
Margaret is quite selfish and conceited, expecting flattery from most she meets for her intelligence and looks regardless of whether they had witnessed her abilities or not. She doesn’t care much about the response in the end though; as she expects such things from her path of ‘villainy’, believing that in the end she will come out on top regardless. Whilst not insulting or actually mean the girl is often rude, and her backhanded compliments are often misunderstood. Despite the fact that she declares and believes herself to be considerably ‘evil’, Margaret is fairly friendly and kind, being very bad at the whole villain concept overall.
Despite her determined and rash attitude in most social cases Margaret has a relatively low self-esteem, and thus relies on others’ compliments and the like to keep herself feeling strong. This need leads to her focus on being as impressive as possible via her skills; leaving her with an awkward social life due to her lack of skill in dealing with others. If pressured enough Margaret’s façade of determination can be broken, generally leaving the girl in tears; rather than anger. Enraging the girl is actually quite rare, as most of her aggressiveness is instead delivered through her usual conduct, meaning she only has repressed depression to deal with.
Interests:
As mentioned repeatedly in her biography, Margaret loves robotics; both the mechanical side and the programming side. Not that this is the only thing she is skilled in, of course; but it is the subject she is most passionate with. Whilst Margaret could not match Sarabi’s prowess with most machines or Earnest’s skill in programming both would be outdone by her in the field of robotics; being able to create quite impressive AI considering her age, although she is quite reliant on the tools and resources at her disposal, since her spoilt childhood got her used to having such things at hand. She’s particularly skilled with remote-controlled machines, and unlike many mechanics with similar interests she puts quite a bit of effort into their aesthetics as well as their functions.
Beyond this though Margaret has, of course, her dreams of becoming a super-villain. Oddly, though; despite her intellect and skill with machines she does not perceive herself as a criminal mastermind or the like that show up so often in the media but instead as a sort of femme fatale; most likely due to her high ego regarding her looks. As noted earlier she isn’t very good at being evil though, so most see her dream as similar to Aero’s obsession with becoming a hero despite how much she argues against the point. She sees herself as a villainess sniper of sorts and has decided that her surprisingly good singing voice should be her trademark, along with her robotics.
Margaret, like most Floatzels and Water-Types in general, loves swimming and the water, preferably freshwater lakes and the like rather than the sea (as per her species’ usual habitat). She tends to be far more child-like in her habits whilst around the water, playing about like most children younger than her would; as if trying to make up for her strict and hard-working childhood.
Moves:
Freshman Moves:
Aqua Ring: With this move Margaret creates a spiral of levitating water droplets around her body, working primarily as a way of regaining energy via reabsorbing the droplets, but also working as something of a makeshift shield for the Floatzel due to their bounds’ density.
Surf: Margaret is naturally a fairly competent swimmer; although most of her childhood was spent away from water bodies and thus she had little practice. So whilst Margaret can swim fairly well in most circumstances she’s no match for most specialized or trained swimmers; let alone other Water-Types.
Aqua Jet: A signature of her species; this was one of the first moves Margaret learnt. On land Margaret summons water from her sides and front and jets forward on her front like a sled with surprising speed (supposedly the water is actually stored in her inflation sac); whilst on water she pretty much becomes something of a jet ski with her speed across the waves.
Water Gun: Rather than going for a spray of water like many other owners of this move Margaret instead uses the move to fire a pair of sizable highly-pressurized ‘bullets’ of water from her buoyancy sac; supposedly to tie in with her dreams of becoming a sniper-sort of villainess. Whilst these rely heavily on accuracy due to their small size they pack quite the punch due to their pressurisation, being almost explosive on impact. The recoil alone of firing the twin water pellets sends the petite girl spinning, but she uses their recoil to counteract each other, firing her second one from her opposite side to counteract the first’s recoil.
Sophomore Moves:
Protect: A rather typical interpretation of the move with Protect Margaret simply creates a temporary but impenetrable barrier of hexagonal segments before her hands. She does have a bit of a spin on the move though; as the barrier is block blue and thus cannot be seen through, allowing Margaret to make a hasty retreat from her attacker whilst they are still taken off-guard by the shield.
Ice Beam: Rather than using her usual pair of water ‘bullets’ with this move Margaret fires a pair of large ice beams from her buoyancy sack, the sheer force of their firing forcing the girl to have to steady herself else their recoil would knock her over, and she can’t aim them whilst firing since moving would make her lose her steady posture. Despite these drawbacks though these beams are devastating to who they impact… if they impact…
Margaret can also use a simpler version of these beams to create trails of ice on the ground in order to aid her Aqua Jet’s sliding speed and distance.
Double Team: With her sniping strategy in fights Margaret has to be very cautious of avoiding close-quarters encounters. In order to help avoid these fight the Floatzel sets up decoys of herself in areas that still look suitable for her style but are closer and therefore of higher priority to her foe than she actually is. The decoys are immovable but are identical to her, and usually set up in her usual aiming position.
Rain Dance: Rather than a dance Margaret summons her rain with a short song; her personally composed and proclaimed leitmotif. Margaret’s Aqua Jet is far better in the rain on land since it can slide on the damp ground, she is able to recreate her water pellets faster due to the water all around her, she is better camouflaged in the rain, and her Ice Beams are even more devastating in the rain since water-coated foes are far easier to freeze; as is the damp ground. Notable though is the fact that Margaret’s rainclouds are far stormier and darker than most; although this seems to be simply an aesthetic difference brought on due to her attitude.
Appearance:
Margaret is a rather short girl, her childish looks suiting her childish personality. Her age isn’t quite clear from a glance, seeming more like an eleven or twelve year-old than a fourteen year-old, although her clothing style makes up for that somewhat. However, whilst the girl’s height is not so well developed the girl has some notably feminine features, looking quite attractive (although more in a cute way) for her age due to the beauty she inherited from her parents and her species inherent curviness. However, the older girls she often hangs about often chastise her about her small bust, even though it’s only typical for her height and weight.
In general day-to-day life in the PCA and around town Margaret wears quite an odd outfit; although she sternly believes that it helps accentuate her ‘evilness’. Whilst she generally wears just a pair of (tight, as to accentuate her pretty much non-existent curves) black trousers and a black tank-top, the petite girl also wears a rather oversized black trench coat over her clothes. She rarely actually has her arms in the sleeves of this coat, not does she often have it done up; instead having the sleeves tucked in the pockets and the coat hanging loosely like a cape. She seems to believe that this accentuates her size to strangers; but it’s likely that she only really wears it because Janice once noted that it looked ‘cool’.
Team and Relationships:
Margaret is quite friendly if selfish; and thus is fairly well known through the school for her ridiculous look and ambitions. She’s particularly close to the fancier girls whom she looks up to (Eyrie, Janice, Isabella, anyone else who’s a bit of a fashionsta) and has an impressive knowledge regarding other students; mainly based on what’s she heard from the gossip. She currently has a slight obsession with Aero, probably due to her adoration of his looks and attitude. She proudly states that she plans to make him her partner in crime, which is pretty much the opposite of his ideals. He doesn’t fight her too much though, her loud and proud attitude overcomes even his for the most part and thus he’s left being dragged about by the taller girl.
