''Ghostly Race at GBA Broken Pier!'' [Art by Lay]
I thought it was about time I made a new Mario Kart-related picture involving me and Cloud_Koopa, so I drew both of us squaring off at a quite dark course -- the forgotten Broken Pier from Mario Kart: Super Circuit! Not really much to add there, other than that I really hope they will include this one in the final wave of the Booster Course Pass. I doubt it though, since GBA Boo Lake is already included. However I have one thing to say about THAT theory -- they already remade two courses with the exact same background music, being DS Wario Stadium in the base game, and then DS Waluigi Pinball in Wave 2 if I'm not mistaken. So I believe there IS indeed some chance for Broken Pier to be included, although it's not THAT big of a chance it'll be.
The design of the Item Box was lifted straight from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, as in no other MK game do they look remotely the same. MK64 comes close, but there the boxes where fully 3D cubes that laid on the road even if they were 3D for the first time in the series. MK Super Circuit actually uses sprites to indicate its usage of Item Boxes, and they look really good, and once again, this is the only time they looked like this throughout the whole series.
😈 About the track itself now -- I think it is really cool how the sky at Broken Pier isn't completely black, like SNES Ghost Valley. Rather this one uses a mix of light blue, dark blue and Lavender, which is quite unique and makes Broken Pier stand out specifically, even against its own older brother, Boo Lake.

Thank you, Niko! And really thank you for telling Gabo to keep it down, for lack of a better term. I still appreciate that he likes my art, but it is indeed getting annoying that he is constantly asking to be included.
Once again, thanks for helping me out.

I like how it turned out too! The Item Box design was lifted straight out of Mario Kart: Super Circuit. This design was only used there, and never before or since. These little touches make this game the best in my eyes.
For example, did you know?
-- The background will change in certain races, like the blimp ascending from the ground in GBA Luigi Circuit -- this even carried over into the DS remake -- the darkening sky during the Final Lap on Boo Lake; the sun setting and with that changing the color of the entire landscape in Sunset Wilds; and the sky changing from a bright blue to a deep grey once the volcanoes erupt in Lakeside Park.
-- MK Super Circuit was the first time you could make the game itself select a character for you, by selecting the Item Box in the center of the character selection screen. You even get to see some animations when pressing R and L while hovering over a selectable character!
-- Every single race track has its own illustration linked to it in the track selection screen. Sunset Wilds' illustration is noteworthy, since it originally featured Native American Shy Guys in its art and during the race on the track if you happened to bump into one of the tents and make one attach itself to your character. This was only in the original Japanese version of Mario Katö Adubansu, or simply, Mario Kart Advance.
-- Every single time you finish the Special Cup, the character you chose to race as, will drive around a randomly chosen track from the game. This makes every single instance of the Mario Kart Advance's Credits sequence a joy to watch! And what's extra cool -- if you finish the Extra version of the Special Cup, your character of choice will drive around on one of the SNES tracks that are unlockable in the game! Now THAT, is what we call good fan service!
