Most hares are frightful fleeting creatures. Their instincts to flee from predators are exceptionally potent. Marcello Sapwood is an aberration of this fearful archetype, rather than flee, Marcello desires the struggle of the fight, his exceptionally unhealthy level of hate for larger carnivorous creatures drives him to punish their careless cruelty for the weak.
This extreme level of hate however has the potential to make more of a monster of himself than those he considers the same.

(Marcello is not a hero archetype. He is a very flawed and broken person. Often as much of a criminal as the criminals he hunts. Crimes such as child abduction for the purpose of luring out the father and beating him to death are among his awful deeds. The story of Marcello is a story of a man struggling to not become one of the monsters he hunts. )

Marcello Sapwood grew up in the frighteningly dangerous butcher's block, named for the high rate of crimes that take place there against what larger beasts bluntly and impassively call "prey". Wolves, bears, wildcats, and other such a deadly beasts use the butcher's block as their hunting grounds to indulge their criminal base desires. His youth was spent in terror and a complete lack of safety, forcing him at a very young age to be exceptionally aware of his surroundings..now, older, and refined through both training and a mentally unhealthy level of hatred for larger carnivorous beasts, Marcello stalks the butcher's block at night, becoming the hunter, to punish those who wronged him, his family, and life for weaker creatures that live in fear within the butcher's block every day.
