This is Orbitas. He is a relatively new and as such undeveloped character of mine. He is not friendly. Here we see him in his heated cell, playing nice with some fingerpaints.
This is a very expressive piece. I was going to explain it's meaning and metaphorical connotations in detail, but now I think it would be more interesting to hear everyone else's interpretations.
Character and image are © BNG, fool.

Hmm... My guess is that he's a representation of a combo of your suppressed desires, fantasies and your anger. Capable of things like ripping out innards and violent forced sex, intimidation through sadistic cruelty and mindplay.
I think we all have these repressed emotions and ids in some context, and it's a good idea to vent them out, in some way that is safe (like artwork), so that they're not repressed in any way that can be unhealthy and manifest in RL in any strong way.
He's pretty hot, btw!

My interpretation is that in some sense he is a sensual desire in a violent manner. He is sly, but the heart leaves the remark that he is either romantic, or he believes in really hard love, or passion.
At the same time he is more of a fantasy, the way that his character himself and his expressions are shown as almost sly or devilish, he draws with a light mauve color.
This is more of a contrast to how he behaves, and maybe acts as the inside of him probably being more romantic when approached in some sense.
Or maybe he is mischievous, and enjoys either the suffering, or having something in his mind to tease others.
His muscularity and sense of strength probably gives me the impression that he works and endures physically a bit much. Also because he is a prison, and is painting, this may be sort of a rehabilitation towards his feelings, maybe connecting you and your feelings.
The reason why he is a prison cell, is to of course break out from it, and in a metaphorical sense, he may be the character in which you can break out with your more intense feelings, and may reflect your other ego of extreme emotions of anything.
As far as he develops in your life, because he is a new character, he may become something else.
Also the name Orbitas is supposing the Latin Roots, whereas it is just a made up root. the end of his name -as, makes it sound more feminine and gentle, but I am also guessing the Orbit revolves around the fact that he wants to be the center of attention.
He is prideful in vain as well.
And myes, that is my interpretation... Bluh, it's super long.
There is a whole lot of character in this guy, and in this piece, and I don't think that it's just any yiff character made for the pleasure of others.
I think he is made more for your own relief too, and I think that the way you sculpted his expressions and his body through digital paint is extremely well done. He looks more like a sculpture than a painting, and It's impressive to me that you can really make something pop out and be so real with it.
Excellent perception of the character. I really enjoyed looking at him.

Well...thank you for such in in-depth comment. To satisfy your curiosity (plus I think you earned it), I'll explain a few things.
Orbitas is indeed Latin, as far as I know meaning the death or bereavement of a parent or child, in this case a metaphorical 'inner child'.
Giving him fingerpaint whilst being imprisoned is a way of forcing upon him a fake demeanor of docility and humour, hence the title.
Thanks again for the detailed comment, I appreciate it.

Uh yeah, I'm glad you appreciated such a comment. Yeah I could have guessed it was Latin (I took the damn class, and it's incredibly hard.), but I wasn't familiar with the word. Very nice selection of the name, and it is kind of humorous.
He's Thuper Ferocious. Haha... Hah... Yeeah.
Thanks for quenching my need of information of that guy then.

Woah... awesome picture... really mean looking character. ;] Love the evil glare in his eyes.
... and interpretationwise... maybe it's supposed to show opposite aspects of one person? While he looks pretty evil, he seems to have a soft side too... the fingerpaint... the little heart he drew on the floor. He's a softy on the inside. ;P

Beautifully done BNG. The colors really bring out this piece.
I like the finger paints idea as well. Trying to play the nice act, when he's anything but. He just comes off as a sly, untrusting kind of dragon, that you have suspissions about when you first lay eye on him.
Cuts on his arms sort of signifying pain, maybe anger if you will? There's just a LOT to take in here. Maybe he's using the finger paints as a sort of art therapy. The heart symbolizing positive thoughts.

For some reason, I look at his face and think "A bulky Hannibal Lecter". The fact that he's finger painting just cements that idea along.
To flesh out the idea, and for those who are not familiar with who Hannibal might be, I look at this and it says to me that there's a devious and dangerous mind there. The person in question would prefer to be a killer, but confined to his cell, he's going to play along with whatever it is his jailkeeper has in store for him, but he's also going to play with the minds and hearts of any individual willing to get close enough to the cell to see and hear him.
His voice is deep, melodious, with the overtone of playfulness, and with a hint of subtle sinister tendencies.
Any frequent visitors to his cell will see him entertaining himself in the most odd ways. Finger painting, possibly reading a fantasy novel/manga... all to throw off the observer, to make him seem less than he really is, in order for their guards to be let down just a bit more.
That's what I see anyway.

He definitely has an aura of, "I'm way more intelligent than those who put me in here." And, "It's only a matter of time until I get out."
Despite, perhaps because of, his expression and play acting with the fingerpaints, he is a very dangerous critter.
The murder rate's going to skyrocket once he's free.
That aside, it's a wonderfully done piece. He is quite attractive in that scary kind of way, and beefy too. He's giving what so many viewers want to see and he knows it.

What I have to say has sort of been said already, but:
Holy fucking wow. This picture is really incredible technically, but what really blows me away by what I feel from it.
A little sadistic, sexually and artistically frustrated, some pain, anger and danger, love frustration, and vulnerability.
Maybe I don't know what it's really about, but that's what I get.

Ok, heres what i think. I see a rawness to him that reminds me alot of thos vaery basic emotions that connect us to a more anamalistic side. Its intence the way he looks, sinnister with that smile of his but very disarming. I actually feel that i can go up to him and sit but keep my guard up because their is something their to be afraid of.
Keeping things in check, the cell represents the hearts own fear of feeling thos powerful and sometimes overwhelming emotions that scare us. The inner demon that we all carry but hold back because were scared of what we might do. The finger paints...just something to twiddle time away with. Representing the need to occupy those feelings and keeping them from being bored...boredom usually leads to a growing desire to "get out" and do something. So its a way o prevent that.
Its a very lovely picture my friend, i see it as something worth every ounce of effort and time. I grow more and more impressed with your talent and skill with each picture regardless of its content. Thank you for sharing.
I hope we get to talk again someday. I miss having you around. ^ ^

He seems twisted, but maybe that's because he's grinning like a psycho. A barred door suggests that maybe he's been incarcerated. The heart he paints on the floor is perhaps for a loved one, but a psychopath's idea of love is entirely different than ours.
Maybe he's a stalker, maybe a rapist, or maybe just your run of the mill whacko, Hannibal Lecter style.
One things for sure though, I wouldn't want to meet him on a bad day.

It seems he is playing upon the viewer's desires to get them to come closer and then *snap* Insta-cell-bitch :P
Excellent work on the lighting and the expression on his face. the darker brown color to his face seems a bit awkward, but this adds to his unusualness :) Nice work!

AMAZING!
I say the primal look and feel of his body simply shows how his dominance shows through, yet it is contained in the cell. On the other hand, the paints show a softer side, playing around and letting his inner child free itself while bound in the prison. Absolutely beautiful job!

What a deceptive smile and demeanor on his face! An exellent picture portraying the inner mettle inside of a child and the outer mettle of a torn adult. One born into anguish.
The fingerpaints just sweeten the deal, the guards perhaps making an attempt to calm the beast by offering toys for his inner undeveloped child.

Okay-okay-okay, finally get to comment after noticing this drawing a bit back. Let me give this a shot before reading the other interpretations. I bet I'll easily say something that's already been said, though. ^_^
Orbitas definitely isn't a nice guy, but the drawing tries to humor the viewer that he might be with the effeminitely colored fingerpaint. (The name Facetiousness, which means fake-ish or not literal, is also a clue.) You can tell he's "bad" by all of his horns and spikes pointing forward, rather than backward, which is a good show of forthcoming aggressiveness. Add that with his small, constricted blue irises and he flashes this overall demonic look. And that's if the fangs don't give a sign. He doesn't show a reassuring smile, either. More like one of wicked merriment. Oh, and are those scars on his biceps? They're the same color as the fingerpaint, makes me wonder what that might mean, if anything.
I really love this drawing not just 'cause it's red hot, but also because I can relate to it. Oh, yeah, I have an Orbitas inside me, too! Probably looks almost the same as well. And I knowwww, BNG, that you're putting a part of yourself in this picture--the "Orbitas inside BNG." The prison cell may not represent a prison per se, but more like a "container" that holds "the Orbitas" inside BNG, or the individual.
In fact, because Orbitas is in a dark, small room accentuates Orbitas himself more than the fact that he's "trapped." I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's more like the focus is 110% on Orbitas. And that's what he wants. This prison is his domain--everything for Orbitas. He's an extremely narcissistic, sensual, coveting, carnal, hungry, and calculating individual. But he's a dragon, after all, and some dragons tend to be that way since they are powerful creatures. It looks like Orbitas knows this, and he likes it.
It seems puny humans like us (speaking most literally for us people who play as non-humans ^_^) are drawn to this sort of thing, even though with an individual like this one we'd be completely at his mercy. But Orbitas is inside a prison cell for a good reason, though. It's only goo d to have Orbitas around in moderation, maybe...

I'm not quite sure what to say about this piece, that everyone already hasn't.
Reading into the picture, you see the symbolism of the jail, the fingerpaints, the color of the character himself, as well as his physique. Not too sure of what to touch on.
It would seem to me, that the jail isn't exactly holding him. For some reason I get the feeling that eventually, he is going to be freed, either willingly by his captors or by force. But in a way, is he really captive? It's obvious he's got greater thoughts in his head then those around him, and while he may be biding his time in a jail, his look would make me think that he knows where the real jail is: The mind. They've locked him up everywhere else, except his thoughts, and his cunning. In a sense then, he's free. The window in the background somewhat reflects that idea: The bars are there, but there's still enough room for a significant amount of light to pour through the dark. Since we all generally believe he's quite the manipulator and mastermind, I feel comfortable in thinking it can connect. His ability to break down other minds is still significantly unchained, and that he himself is probably imprisoning whomever is close to him, even in this cell with his smooth talk and ability to convince others of things. Or perhaps even just the thought of him.
The fingerpaint (and it's color), indicate a sort of charm and innocence. Either because this is what he uses to decieve people upon first meeting, or because of significance in his character. I'm guessing either childhood trauma, a relationship of some sort, or it could very well be a symbolence of those he is attracted to. Or those he attacks. Pink is often a color of feminity, playfulness, friendship, sexuality, marriage etc. In some way, this obviously all ties together, and depending on what it is, you were thinking of when you drew it relays an obvious message, and also an answer.
Based on the root meaning of his name, and the entire set up he's in, I think it would be practical to say that he is attracted to something. Perhaps the pain his mind games or even physical violence bring, gives him a pleasure that "gravitates" him to doing it furthur. The title Facetiousness, indicating that the impression of his lighthearted fingerpainting is not to be taken so easily. He is dangerous. He will be (or is) among us. Most important, he cannot really be contained.
....that or he's just a big silly, with an orbital attraction that brings throngs of admirers. Though I highly doubt. ^^

I look at this piece as a pin-up, not much else. To me he's a hot, buff dragon doing a modeling stint with some interesting props. I do enjoy a good relaxed stud image, because it shows them in more natural poses than when they're formally flexing for competition or what have you.
Though I find the psychological interpretations and symbolism people have put out there fascinating to read.
