As the roster of characters increases (seemingly every day XD), im sure you can imagine that there are a few lovely faces that have fallen through the cracks. Unfortunately, most of these faces are from the past, long before my passion for backstories and writing was legitimized. So, with that being said, I thought it was high time to cast my line and see what I could catch; and wouldn’t you know it, it seems I received an adorable corgi! That’s right, today we will be peering into the past of the beautiful corgi, Isabella, or Izzy as she prefers to be called. From the past pics, you guys have only received a sample of what makes this lovely lady tick; but now, you will be able to indulge on her background! Long overdue and ready for you to read, take a peek into this corgi’s past!!

Name: Isabella Dawnague (more commonly known as “Izzy”)
Age: 25
Species: Canine (Pembroke Welsh corgi)

Background: Even though Isabella was born to both a mother and father, her birth was the result of a mischance rather than being planned, something neither of her parents were prepared for. In addition, Isabella was born with an advanced form of hermaphroditism; which the doctor informed her parents of and the possible effects it could have on her in the future, including her gender identity. Although her father was still fairly young, he was happy to have a child, especially with his partner at the time; someone he always imagined starting a family with. Unfortunately, Isabella’s mother was less than thrilled about this turn of events, feeling as if she would be surrendering both her freedom and happiness to take care of a child, let alone one that would have any sort of developmental issues in the future. As a result, Isabella’s mother tried to convince her partner to simply give the newborn to an orphanage, not wanting the responsibility of taking care of child. However, despite his girlfriend’s requests, Isabella’s father explained how he wanted to keep Isabella due to him wanting a child; only for Isabella’s mother to argue against it and how it would be a mistake as a result. Hearing this, the father explained how the two of them should take responsibility for Isabella; only for his girlfriend to say that Isabella was a mistake and how she didn’t want it to affect her life. Annoyed by his girlfriend’s claim, Isabella’s father continued to argue with her in regards to keeping the child, causing the once civil conversation to erupt into a bitter argument, effectively resulting in Isabella’s mother and father to end their relationship and cut ties with one another, with the father keeping the newborn. Cradling his child in his arms trying his best to fight back the waves of emotions that battered against him, Isabella’s father managed to give his new child a genuine smile, stating how he would do his best to take care of her. Feeling Isabella nuzzle against him, Isabella’s father gave her the name “Izzy”, showing his commitment in raising her, but choosing to raise her as his “son” until he was sure of what she wished to identity as.

Now a single father, Isabella’s dad spoke with his family about the situation and how he planned to keep the newborn. Although his parents were concerned about their son’s young age and the nature of Isabella’s birth, they expressed their pride that he decided to take responsibility for the child. Knowing that he would have to change a plethora of things to suit his new child, Izzy’s father listened closely to the words and advice of his parents in order to better accommodate and nurture Izzy. Even though he could sense taking care of a child would be a great deal of work, Izzy’s father decided he would make that sacrifice for her. What followed was Izzy’s father getting a second job while his parents tended to her in his absence; with him taking care of her anytime he wasn’t working. Making use of everything his parents taught him, Izzy’s father managed to take care of Izzy between his fatigue and though tired a majority of the time, he couldn’t help but smile upon seeing her smile.

After several years, Izzy’s father managed to find a much better job than the 2 he had been working, resulting in him quitting both. As a result, Izzy’s father was able to spend much more time with his child and better raise her, but it was here things began to get somewhat difficult. Although, Izzy’s father was able to spend more time with Izzy, it unfortunately began to cause old painful memories to resurface. Due to how much time Izzy’s father was able to spend with her, he often times felt somewhat saddened because of how much she reminded him of her mother. Thinking about the good times he had with Izzy’s mother, the prospects of what could have been had she become his wife, and the sour note everything ended on, only served to fill Izzy’s father with grief and sorrow. To remedy these feelings, Izzy’s father would often times listen to music that, even though it brought back memories of his old partner, served only to remind him of the good times. Although his parents warned Izzy’s father of the volume in which he played his music for fear of it disturbing Izzy’s rest; the young corgi didn’t mind the music, frequently clapping and bouncing around due to how much she enjoyed it. Seeing how much his child loved the music, Izzy’s father would frequently listen to his favorite music with her; sometimes explaining the artist or memories he had with the songs, despite knowing Izzy wouldn’t understand what he was talking about. Over the following years, Izzy’s father would continue to work to provide for Izzy, but spending time with her listening to his music collection and deeply bonding with her as a result.

Upon turning 5 years old, Izzy’s father enrolled her into kindergarten where she would begin her school career, making friends and learning as time went on. From here, Izzy’s life continued on as normally as possible, with her father helping her more and more in her development. Though the following years, Izzy would continue her schooling; moving up from each grade, losing and gaining friends, and improving on her studies. However, despite the various changes around her, one thing that never changed was her hobby of enjoying music with her father. Being at an age where she could effectively communicate and truly listen to the music being presented to her, Izzy found herself thoroughly enjoying the songs and her father’s stories regarding them. It was even here that Izzy found out that her father named her “Izzy” after the lead guitarist of his favorite band. Through this love of music, Izzy quickly became enamored with the idea of creating and playing her own pieces, which caused her to join various music classes in the grades that had them. As Izzy continued to develop on her own, her father expressed his own joy in watching her evolve both mentally and socially, feeling a sense of pride in how she was turning out. However, it was during Izzy’s 6th grade year that he began to notice several behavioral changes with her as she began to gravitate towards things that were a bit more feminine. Initially, Izzy’s father chose to let Izzy be; but after a while, these behavioral changes grew more and more frequent; in addition to some rather peculiar physical changes. Instead of Izzy developing like the “son” her father thought he had, he noticed her developing much more like a young girl would. Concerned at first, Izzy’s father remembered what the doctor told him and his ex-girlfriend when Izzy was born and how her future development would be affected by her condition. Speaking with his parents on the matter, Izzy’s father came to the conclusion of just letting Izzy choose what she wanted to wear and the things she liked; at which point he would explain everything to her as best he could.

It was here that Izzy’s father stopped buying Izzy’s clothing by himself and would let her choose what she liked. As he watched as Izzy choose the things she liked, the corgi’s father felt no shame in letting Izzy act and dress the way she wanted; but he did feel a wave of anxiety at the prospect of talking with her and explaining the situation to her. However, his desire to erase any confusion and not worry his child, overrode any hesitation he held in his heart. That same night, Izzy’s father nervously spoke to Izzy about her body, various changes she might experience, and the condition she had been born with; explaining everything he knew and what the doctor had told him. While Izzy did not fully understand, she was able to grasp some of what her father was saying, going on to say how she always thought of herself as a girl. Hearing this, Izzy’s father was able to breathe a sigh of relief, happy to have his child and the knowledge that he had a daughter rather than a son. However, realizing he would have to teach her about various feminine topics, filled Izzy’s father with a new form of anxiety; but he was prepared for whenever that time came.

As the years went on, Izzy began to notice something peculiar with her father; something that truly worried her. Over time, Izzy began noticing how her father grew more and more absent; with her grandparents tending to her more often than not. Whenever Izzy did see her father, it was usually late at night, with her dad stating he had to work late. Accepting this at first, Izzy tried not read too much into the situation, but as the frequency increased, she became more and more skeptical. It wasn’t until Izzy’s father missed a special recital she was doing with her class, that she became furious with her father and wanted answers. One night, as her father returned home from work, Izzy angrily confronted her parent on how he missed her recital. Seeing his daughter anger to the point of tears, the corgi’s father felt it was time he explained himself. Picking his daughter up and setting her on his lap, Izzy’s father deeply apologized for missing her performance, stating how he had completely forgotten due to how much work was being given to him and how it took up most of his time. However, Izzy’s father explained something else that completely caught Izzy off guard. Telling Izzy how things were going at work, the girl’s father explained how he had been working really hard and that he was having help from a trusted coworker; going on to state how her help was the only way he was able to get home as “early” as he had been. Smiling, Izzy’s father told his daughter how much his coworker had helped him and how much she had done for him. Hugging his daughter firmly, Izzy’s father told the frustrated Izzy how sorry he was for missing her performance, and how he would make it to the next one no matter the circumstances. Now understanding the situation, Izzy smiled at her father and hugged him, fully accepting his apology. Holding his daughter close, Izzy’s father told the girl how he would do better for the future. As if fate itself wanted to test these words, several weeks later, Izzy informed her father of another play that would be happening soon. Hearing this, Izzy’s father promised his daughter he would be there to cheer and clap for her; these words bringing a bright smile to the girl’s face.

When the fated day arrived, Izzy found herself getting ready with her class, periodically peering out into the audience to see if her father was there. However, each time she checked, the room grew fuller and fuller with no sign of her dad. It wasn’t long before she couldn’t check as the performance had started, and a disheartened Izzy was forced to wait back stage with her classmates. As the play continued on, it wasn’t long before Izzy had to go on stage with her classmates, certain that her father would miss the presentation again. Walking on stage with the others, Izzy hung her head, downtrodden that her father wasn’t there. However, upon making it on stage, Izzy heard her name being called from the audience. Looking up, Izzy immediately spotted her father clapping for her, along with a woman that stood alongside him. Though she did not know who the woman was, Izzy felt her energy rise upon seeing her father in the crown cheering for her. Seeing that her dad was there, Izzy prepared to give the best performance she could muster. After the play had concluded, Izzy ran to her father, who picked his little girl up into his arms and hugged her tightly, stating how well she did and how proud he was of her. Congratulating Izzy on her performance as well, was the woman who accompanied the girl’s father. As Izzy nervously thanked the woman, the corgi’s father told Izzy that the woman was the coworker who had been helping him with his work; stating how she had helped him so he could see her play. Introducing herself, the woman told Izzy how well she did on stage and how often her father spoke about her. Thanking the woman again, a shy Izzy held onto her father, almost as if for security. Chuckling softly, the woman exchanged a few words with Izzy’s father about work, before stating how good it was to finally meet Izzy, departing shortly after. On the car ride home, Izzy’ father keep saying how good it was to see his daughter on stage. Izzy was no less enthusiastic to tell her father about her feelings and everything she did with her classmates and teacher to get it together. Thrilled he could see his daughter’s play, Izzy’s father once again breathed a sigh of relief that his coworker was able to help him. Curious, Izzy asked about her father’s coworker and who she was. Izzy’s father went on to explain that his coworker was someone who had been at his job a bit longer than him had how the 2 had previously been tasked with doing several projects together. Izzy’s father went on to say how he and his coworker became good friends, having similar interests and such. Hearing this, Izzy felt somewhat nervous, but stated how nice she seemed, despite the lingering doubts in her mind and heart.

Over the following months, while things returned to relative normalcy and Izzy began seeing her father more often, he was frequently seen with the woman from his job. This continued on for some time, but there were times in which Izzy wouldn’t see her father at all; going to bed without so much as the mere sight of him. However, every time Izzy saw her father, he would state how he was out with his coworker. Due to her father repeatedly bringing his friend with him and the absences growing a bit more ritualistic, Izzy soon began to harbor resentment for the woman; believing that she was stealing her father away from her. It was at this time, that anytime Izzy saw the woman, she would act standoffish and frown towards her; much to the woman’s confusion and the father’s chagrin. After a while of this, Izzy’s father confronted his daughter on why she was behaving in such a manner as it wasn’t like her to do so. Not wanting to tell her father the truth, Izzy merely stated how she didn’t like the woman. Due to his daughter’s abnormal behavior, Izzy’s father knew his little girl wasn’t being truthful with him. Sitting down with Izzy, the corgi’s father asked his daughter to be honest and tell him what was truly wrong. Seeing her father so serious, Izzy didn’t want to lie and possible disappoint her dad further. Using all the honesty in her heart, Izzy told her dad how she was jealous of his coworker and how it seemed like he wasn’t around as much as he used to be. Understanding where his daughter’s feelings were coming from, the corgi’s father hugged Izzy close to him and told her that he never intended to make her feel this way. In that moment, Izzy’s father explained how the woman had helped him so much at work and how she was able to help him see some of her events; going further to say that, like Izzy, he found her special. Breathing deeply, Izzy’s father felt it was time to explain what happened to the girl’s mother those many years ago; stating how his former girlfriend didn’t want to be a part of the family he had envisioned, stating how the connection with his coworker gave him hope of having a complete family; allowing Izzy to have both a mother and father. Hearing how her father felt about the woman and how happy she also made him, made Izzy feel guilty about the way she acted. Apologizing to her father, Izzy expressed her utmost remorse and promised she would do better. Sensing his daughter remorse, Izzy’s father hugged her firmly and asked her to apologize to his coworker, to which Izzy agreed.

The next day, upon picking Izzy up from school, the girl’s father was once again accompanied by his coworker. Upon sitting in her seat, Izzy was reminded by her father about what they talked about the night before; prompting the remorseful corgi to deeply apologize to the woman about how she had been behaving; keeping her head down the entire time due to her embarrassment. Expecting the woman to be upset with her, Izzy braced for her response, only to feel a warm hand on the top of her head. Looking up, Izzy was surprised to see the gentle smiling face of the woman as she gently patted the young girl’s head from the front seat. The woman told Izzy it was alright, as she knew that the girl only had her father for some time, and how much she knew Izzy cared for him; stating how it might make her uneasy due to a stranger coming into her life. Seeing the woman’s smile and her tone, assured Izzy that her father’s coworker was genuine and wasn’t trying to take her father away from her. Her nervousness turning into both relief and happiness, Izzy smiled at the woman, knowing that things were patched up. It was from that point onward, that much had changed between Izzy, her father, and his coworker. As time went on, the woman became a part of Izzy’s life almost as much as the girl’s father; participating in the corgi’s school events, spending time with her outside of work, helping her with homework, and bonding with her anytime they interacted with one another. However, this was only the beginning, as the woman soon became a friend of the family, and afterwards it wasn’t long before she became a true part of Izzy’s life.

Shortly after starting her freshman year of high school, Izzy was told by her father how he proposed to his coworker, only for her to say yes! Hearing this, Izzy felt a stir with excitement for both her father and his now fiancée; happy that her family would be expanding. That summer, Izzy found herself in a frilled dress surrounded by her relatives, watching as her father and her new mother kissed before the entire cheering group of friends and family. A beautiful wedding, the day marked not just the uniting of Izzy’s father and former stranger, but marked the day of her gaining a mother who cared for her. From that point on, Izzy was cared for by her father and new step-mother, living an even happier life than she had before; with her dad continuing to nurture her and her mom helping her with anything her father couldn’t assist her with. However, even though things were much better, Izzy’s father felt that he still had unfinished business and knew exactly what he wanted to do to finish it.

Following Izzy’s 15th birthday, the young girl was given a variety of presents by her parents, one of which was a brand new guitar so she could try her hand at playing her own instrument. However, the present given to her by her father was particularly special. Instead of handing his daughter a brand new store-bought present, Izzy’s father gifted the young girl with his entire musical collection, along with the various devices needed to play them. Seeing her father place the large assortment of records, CDs, and other such paraphernalia before caused Izzy to react wit not excitement, but utter confusion. Asking why her father was giving her all of his music; Izzy was treated to an explanation she was not truly prepared for. Smiling softly at his daughter, Izzy’s father told his little girl how collecting and listening to music was a hobby he and Izzy shared and how happy he was that they could indulge in it together; but went on to state how it reminded him to much of the girl’s mother. Stating that his life now revolved around Izzy and his new wife, Izzy’s father explained how he wanted to forget about the old painful part of his life and pass along his collection to Izzy, knowing she would most certainly make use of the music he enjoyed. Hugging his daughter, the corgi’s father told Izzy he would be help her getting everything set up and how it didn’t mean they would stop enjoying music together. A tear-eyed Izzy held on to her father and thanked him deeply, stating how she would take care of the collection he gifted her.

From that point onward, Izzy continued to listen to the various songs given to her by her father, and spent a majority of her time practicing on the guitar gifted to her, being enthralled with each string she plucked and trying her best to imitate what she heard being played. As time went on, music became a major part of Izzy’s life and she would dedicate a great deal of time practicing or listening to any song that she enjoyed, sharing in the experience with her parents and learning new techniques from school or through experimentation. It wasn’t long before Izzy’s knack for music showcased itself in various ways from winning her several school competitions and eventually allowing her to write her own music and perform melodies and songs that many people enjoyed. Shortly after graduating high school, Izzy enrolled into a small community college to further her musical pursuit; unfortunately, due to the distance, she was forced to move out of her parents and find a cheap apartment she could afford. Though sad she wouldn’t be able to see her parents as much, Izzy was determined to get farther in her understanding of music and increase her skill. Packing up all of her belongings, a teary-eyed Izzy said good bye to her parents, promising that she would come back as often as she could and make them proud with her music; saying how much she loved them and thanking them for everything they had done for her. Moving out of her parents’ home, Izzy drove to her new apartment and got settled in. Giving a heavy sigh, Izzy felt an odd mix of anxiety at living on her own, sadness at having to leave her parents, and excitement at getting to go to school to practice and expand her music. Needing a moment to clear her head, Izzy quickly found herself walking around the area looking at the surrounding area. As she walked around, Izzy quickly found herself growing hungrier with each step she took. Deciding to grab a meal at one of the local fast food restaurants, Izzy continued on her way, wanting nothing more than to grab a quick bite to eat. However, as Izzy navigated the streets, something caught her eye that quickly made her forget her hunger.

Across the street from Izzy was a small music store that immediately piqued her interest. In hurry, Izzy rushed across the street and stopped to admire the instruments in the store window. Completely invested, Izzy quickly entered the store and marveled at the various instruments and music that lined the racks and decorated the walls. As Izzy looked around, she was greeted warmly by the store owner who asked if he could help her find anything; to which Izzy stated she merely browsing. After a bit of browsing, Izzy found herself buying several CDs and a small amp. Seeing Izzy’s purchase, the store owner asked if the girl played an instrument, to which the corgi excitedly said yes. Chuckling softly, the owner asked what Izzy played and what kind of music she enjoyed. Though simply, the question sparked a passionate conversation between Izzy and the store owner; turning a quick and simply transaction into a conversation that lasted longer than either could have predicted. After finishing the conversation, the store owner told Izzy how much he admired her musical flare, asking if she would possibly like a job at the store. Despite being somewhat taken off guard by the offer, Izzy quickly said yes to working at the store, excited that she found a job without much effort and one that she knew full heartedly she would enjoy. Shaking Izzy’s hand, the owner told the corgi he would get the necessary paperwork to conduct an interview and get the excited girl on board! Telling Izzy to return the next day, the owner explained everything the corgi would have to do, going on to state that after everything was done, he would be glad to have her working with him. Thanking the owner for the opportunity, Izzy left with her purchase in tow; tingling with excitement and anticipation.

Following the orders given to her, it wasn’t long before Izzy found herself working at the music store all while she went to school, even getting a secondary part time job at a coffee shop close by the campus. Although busy a good portion of her time, Izzy felt happy due to her gaining more musical knowledge and working at a job she loved; using the money to help pay for her classes, furnish her small apartment, and purchase instruments and other such accessories. Overtime, Izzy made new friends and relationships through her school and work, furthering the happiness she felt. Izzy would repeatedly contact her parents, and like an excited child, she would always be eager to tell them of the things going on in her life, much to their enjoyment and pride. As Izzy continued on with her education and job, she would often times perform at places that allowed her to do so, for a bit of extra money and to showcase new melodies she had crafted. This eventually led to Izzy gaining even more friends, some of whom were just as musically inclined as her. As everything seemed to fall into place, Izzy felt a stir with excitement and enthusiasm, ready for her music to guide her through life and open more doors for her; and she was more than eager to follow the path those woven notes took her!


Personality: Izzy is an extremely caring and friendly individual especially towards those she is close too, which can easily be seen by even the simplest of interactions. This affection is further expressed in how she chooses to refer to those close to her; referring to close friends as “band members” and acquaintances as “groupies”. Interestingly enough, Izzy still addresses family members by their position (i.e. dad, grandma, aunt, etc). In addition to her naturally amicable demeanor, Izzy has proven to be a very loyal companion as she is always willing to stick close to her friends regardless of the situation; even going as far as to stand up for her friends whenever she senses they are in trouble. However, no matter how close Izzy is with someone, she is still willing to be honest with them and is willing to call others out when she feels as if their being unfair or harsh; but is still willing to soften her words, showing that she still takes other’s feelings into consideration. While Izzy does have a strong caring side, this trait can sometimes lend itself to her jealousy; as she never wants to feel as if someone close to her will be taken from her, with even the mere threat of it being enough to unnerve her. This can be somewhat seen during her earlier interactions with her father’s coworker, as Izzy saw the woman as a threat to the happiness and quality time she spent with her dad and not wanting a stranger to impose on it. In spite of her envious side, Izzy does her best to curb this side so it doesn’t negatively impact her or her relationships.

In many situations, Izzy can be rather easy going and tries her best not to stress about things. As she is usually laid back about various things, Izzy doesn’t get too riled up about situations and does her best to adapt to whatever is happening around her. In many situations, Izzy is the one to calm others down if she feels that they are getting too worked up about a particular circumstance, and will usually offer advice that can help remedy the problem. Despite how easy going she is most of the times, Izzy does have her moments of panic from time to time, but they are rare and she can usually reign herself back in from potentially making the problem worse for herself via her flustered state. Interestingly enough, in spite of her generally laidback demeanor, Izzy can be startling insightful and contemplative; being able to give advice that truly benefits others. However, this advice, while helpful to others, is usually given through various analogies and sayings; still showcasing Izzy’s more easy-going nature.

Izzy can be rather tomboyish, a trait that can easily be seen in both the manner in which she dresses and speaks; which can be a bit rougher when compared to her peers at times. This is possibly a result of her being raised by her father for most of her life and not having a maternal figure, with the sole exception being her grandmother. Despite this trait, Izzy doesn’t have an issue with things that are considered more feminine and does display similar traits at times; such as in her appreciation for plushies and in some facets of her fashion sense. There are times in which her more tomboyish traits meld with her feminine aspects such as her reactions to flattery, which is identified by a blushing face and gentle jab to the issuer’s shoulder. Another indicator of Izzy’s tomboyish traits lies in how she wishes to be addressed; typically preferring to be called “Izzy” rather than by her full name of “Isabella”. Despite this, Izzy doesn’t act too differently from her peers and her friendly nature makes her easy to both approach and communicate with, regardless of what mood she is presenting.

One of Izzy’s core traits is her utter admiration for music and the varying components that are involved in crafting it. Due to her father’s influence, Izzy has an innate fondness for music and playing various instruments, which she enthusiastically pursues whenever inspiration strikes her. While this love of music is apparent in her overall demeanor, it is most evident in other aspects such as her expansive musical collection; which ranges from CDs to records. Aside from her frequent pursuit of improving on her technique and playing capability; a further testament to Izzy’s musical knack is that she is (for the most part) self-taught. Izzy’s passion for music can best be described as “infectious”, as she loves talking about the various forms of music or instrumentation and can easily get excited when the topic arises. Even if the musical genre is not her most preferred, Izzy still manages to showcase a distinct appreciation for the craft. Further adding to this, is Izzy’s inclination to ask other’s their own musical tastes and her readiness to play for others; in addition to her willingness to listen to anything they enjoy or have composed with little hesitation and much insistence. This musical passion is so great that it has bled into other aspects of Izzy’s attitude. For example: Izzy has a habit of using quotes from various musicians and song lyrics to either make a point or to express herself at times; which sometimes comes across as random or wayward to those unfamiliar with her. As music is such an important facet of her life, Izzy has a habit of being serious about the topic at certain points; such as when it comes to practicing or writing music. This is not to say she is completely incapable of having fun while she does these activities, but believes it should be paid close attention and handled with care. Due to having so many visions in regards to her own music, Izzy can be a bit stubborn when it comes to collaborating on certain pieces; but she is still willing to compromise and negotiate, showing that she is not unflinching in these decisions.

Having been through so much since her birth, Izzy expresses her utter happiness and content with how things turned out in her life. Aspirations of encapsulating those around her with her music, Izzy desires to make other’s worries melt away with the vibrant melodies she weaves and her passion will be the sheet of music that will make such a desire a reality.

*TRIVIA: Izzy is one of the few characters who go by a slightly different/alternate name from their “true”/given name. Godiva and Snow are good examples of this. Izzy only uses her given name of “Isabella” when signing official paperwork or for professional reasons.
