Drew up my player character in Final Fantasy XIV, a Xaela Au Ra named Rahu Reysal
And while I don't do any roleplaying with him, I do have some backstory/characteristics for him because I can't help myself with my characters
His life started as an adopted orphan, his birth parents had managed to flee from the Garlean Empire's occupation of Doma and cross over to Eorzea when he was an infant, but had soon lost their lives after stumbling upon a group of poachers in the Black Shroud. Fortunately a nearby Wood Wailer patrol had arrived in time to save the child, and in a rare occurence, was adopted by an elderly couple in a secluded part of the Shroud without complaint by the Elementals.
His adoptive father, Valerious Reysal, was a former Wood Wailer who retired due to a leg injury and turned to carpentry, while his mother Roupe was a culinarian. Valerious often liked to regale him with tales of the "good old days" and instilled a sense of duty and work ethic, while Roupe nearly smothered him in love and good food. Together the two did their damnedest to raise him as a good and happy child.
At 24 years his adoptive parents passed away peacefully, and after taking care of the necessary affairs the young man made his way to Gridania, a worn lance of his father's in hand to start a life as an adventurer, not knowing the curveballs Hydaelen was about to throw his way.
As a person Rahu can be likened to a pit bull: he appears large and intimidating, and can certainly be vicious when pissed, but by and large he is a massive, impulsive dork that just wants to love and help people. He likes to snark at and tease his friends on occasion but never minds being the butt of a joke.
He absolutely adores his chocobo Chancha, the Gentleman Inspectors Hildibrand Manderville and Nashu Mhakaracca.
Really despises people that exploit and abuse others for their own gains.
Thanks to Hydaelen's blessing he's an unexpected renaissance man in multiple disciplines, he holds a preference for polearms and axes, carpentry, goldsmithing and blacksmithing.
The biggest disappointment of his life was learning that Señor Sabotender wasn't an actual sabotender.
Has a big crush on Kan-E-Senna and Raya-O-Senna but is too shy to say anything serious about it.
