I'm all for the Egyptian people and their pursuit for freedom & democracy. But I'm also not as idealistic to know that democracy is a very fragile, especially at an early stage, and it's never the revolution that is importaint so much as what is wrought from it. Far too often, revolutions, especially violent ones, usually end very badly, replacing one dictator with one even worse than the former. And it is those people who take full advantage of the chaos in order to take power and install THEIR order.
I'm all for people having the right, and ability to PEACEABLY protest, even for something I don't agree with. But what I can't condone is "Day(s) of Rage." Riots don't, and shouldn't be a method to bring change, address grivences, or bring attention to an issue. They do nothing but ruin peoples' lives, or worse, and like a wildfire, once it starts, it's nearly impossible to put out without equally resorting to extreme measures. (Such as had been seen.) Sorry, but throwing rocks at the police, store windows, or banging on people's cars crosses the "peaceful, non-violent" line which should never be crossed. This is not what MLK Jr. or Ghandi preached. Those who believe in using anger to spark revolution should not be listened to, and never followed.
I do hope, for all of humanity's sake, that this madness passes qucikly, and some real good comes out of it, and not descend even deeper into the abyss.
Set rules Egypt now, will Sekhmet join him?

Except to stop the protests, one of the few things they did was shut off all media and internet action. Many people were pissed in general, not to mention that much of the fighting was started by Paid for protesters in order to make the protesters look bad. And then several attacked the peaceful group and all hell broke loose..
Well the 'days of rage' is Yemen, not Egypt, I believe... but your point is valid. What's confusing the matter is that the anti-Mubarak supporters appear to be fully protesting peacefully - just in huge numbers. Mubarak's supporters, whilst smaller in numbers, are using violence and intimidation to get their point across since there aren't enough of them to be heard over the crowd. This is a very dangerous situation, indeed...
And for those that are asking stuff like "Why isn't X leader coming in to tell him to get out?" - look what that has done lately. Change is one thing if it is driven from without, another if driven from without.

Yeah, I have some worries that it can turn into another Iranian Cultural Revolution.
One another note; Set has always been my favorite Egyptian God, and I never like it when he is depicted as evil. He was originally the protector of Ra, and it wasn't until the New Kingdom when the Horus cult gained favor over the the Set cult that Set was considered an chaotic god.
