Writing a new version of Odri's backstory that I might use for other stories in the future.

The yinliffs are an alien species that live exclusively on spaceships. Their bodies and their hands float with telekinesis. They don't have any hair. The most common skin color is a pale yellow, but shades of green or pink can be seen as well.

Yinliffs don't eat food; they draw energy in electrical form from their ships and store it in their bodies.

They have advanced technology that can repair a yinliff's body and heal almost anything. Using this on a human will change them into a yinliff hybrid - this is called an uma. Odri was adopted as an infant by a yinliff group; they had to turn her into an uma because they don't have the technology to care for a normal human.

Native yinliffs are often very outgoing and tend to congregate in groups. (Other creatures turned into yinliffs will continue to act the same way they did before.)
