For my two friends, of their two pet cats Vashiel and Rumisiel.
I feel I should mention right away that the grayish part of the paper in the upper left area is not on the actual painting, it's just my scanner being a jerk. And also because of the nature of the paper and how it dried, much seems to be blurry... it's not blurry in person. Same with the shiny - in person, it doesn't shine in such a way that shows the texture so much XD
This was an experiment. I did the background with red and purple watercolour, and then used some purple and green paints that I'm... not sure what they are, because they're labeled in Japanese so I can't read them, haha. But I think they're watercolour too?
Then I used black ink for the kitties, and acrylic for their white and collars (with some silver gel pen and black ink for their tags) with marker and white gel pen for their eyes.
Then I used white acrylic to round off the purpley edges to a more white (which looks gray in that one area...), and the spots. Ummmm I think that's it.
To be perfectly clear, I am NOT taking commissions for paintings like this. This is the first real painting I've done in about a decade, and I discovered a lot of new things I love to do - but this painting took several hours of work, and I'm not confident enough with my current skill level to take money for this. I would charge a lot anyhow X3

I'm actually fairly curious to try out some of the techniques you mentioned. It's been a while since I painted anything, so I feel you on that front. The cats themselves look so crisp and sharp, what kind of ink did you use and how did you stop it from running all over the place when you painted over it?
