That was my first thought as well.

Depends, if someone asks for decaf in the twilight hours just to be social and part of the group they're with, yet a work/school night I would like to think it's reasonable. Also extra tippage would help smooth it over.
I've a similar situation many times before. Like drawing the short straw and becoming the DD and having to order Shirley Temples and Cokes while the rest of the group gets brickfaced. At least at the time my drinks became free.
