The currency of the Talamhireen nationstate.
Dross (circle, copper, elemental compass, see also https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50714479/)
Der (square, silver, wheat sheaf)
Maravelis (triangle, gold, Tarnby's Tower of the Sun, flanked by mythical winddogs, see also https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45473792/)
Lepis (cherry blossom, electrum, bust of the emperor, see also https://www.furaffinity.net/view/33854413/)
1 Lepis = 100 Maravelis, 1 Maravelis = 1000 Der, 1 Der = 100 Dross, values set by Bureau of Economic Stabilization
The 10 Der coin is the most common for everyday use, like the American $20 bill. A standard wheat loaf costs 2 Der, a standard cup of coffee 80 Dross.
The lowest three denominations are ancient, predating the current government. The Lepis coin was added after the unification of the citystates of the continent into the country of Talamhir, which is why its edges aren't reeded like the other coins. The reeding was originally introduced to prevent clipping, but another change implemented after the unification was the use of alloys in place of pure bronze, silver, or gold. Now coins are stronger, cheaper to make, and aren't devalued by damage.
Each coin has a hole in the top, allowing them to be strung together, used as necklaces (or lucky charms), or slotted onto rods. At left you see an example of a merchant's travel cashbox, with one rod for each denomination (spillover often gets slotted onto less-used rods, such as the Lepis spots) to keep them organized and prevent them jangling overmuch.
