Now it's not my nature to say New Yorkers or Brooklynites are Rude because almost everyone I encountered during the course of the game was friendly and polite. Still, my view of the game was often disrupted by crowds of school age children, mainly little boys, who'd wait at the netting near the dugouts, hoping to get a free baseball. Free Beanbag baseballs and t-shirts tossed out into the crowd led to high pitched yelps and squeals of delight, but despite some children having an airborne prize snatched right out of their hands were taken in good stride. No major fist fights broke out. Around the 6th inning, the ushers had to come and shoo the youngsters back to their seats.

I recall a Mavericks game where a few teen Hooligans got their noses bloodied because they were caught pushing small children away from catching Souvenir beanbag baseballs. The police were called by the youths to report the assaults by the fathers of the children, and when it was explained what the teens actually did, the hooligans went "Downtown," under full arrest for drunken, disorderly conduct, and underage possession of liquor on the premises.
