Ha, love the ear pieces on the helmet. What an interesting thought.
I wonder if they would be better if they were just round bulges. So the ears would be folded under the helmet, but that would make the ear spaces in the helmet cause less of a vulnerability to the helmet. The helmet would be just as durable as every other helmet.
A rock flying up would bounce off the rounded ear pieces instead of get caught in such a protruding ear piece.
